====Description==== Out Run (also stylized as OutRun) is an arcade driving and sports video game released by Sega in September 1986. It is known for its pioneering hardware and graphics, nonlinear gameplay, a selectable soundtrack with music composed by Hiroshi Kawaguchi, and the hydraulic motion simulator deluxe arcade cabinet. I love how chill the music is for doing 300 km/h in moderate traffic.

Oh, awesome, you're doing Sega racers now! 😊 Trust me, there is _miles_ of fertile ground to cover here, and pretty much any of them would be perfect for a score-based TAS. Power Drift! Hot Rod! Super Hang-On! Enduro Racer! Turbo Outrun! (Oh man, I've wanted to see someone take that bastard down since forever.) I was a bit surprised as just how much you have to slow down to hold turns in the later stages. (I always used speed cheats, so I never picked up on this.) It's quite an eye-opener; it's as if the car's handling actually got worse the further you went. I hope this makes some players feel a little better, anyway. No, you didn't suck, this game really _did_ play unfair! And thank you for choosing Passing Breeze. FINALLY someone with taste. 😁

Give @Prog61 an aneurysm and have him go through Hot Rod on all stages, upgraded, with all 4 cars.

Oh, just 'cause I can: "Coconut Beach", "Gateway", "Desert", "Wilderness", "Vineyard". Those are the stage names. 😁 I'm actually a bit intrigued as to the exact design direction Sega had for this game. This was the mid 80's, well before they hit on their big franchises, and as a result there were plenty of quirky one-off ideas (a cute bluebird rescuing chicks from a pair of cats, a girly princess attacking a castle, a Wonder Woman knockoff infiltrating a Mafia gang, and a kung-fu high schooler saving his girlfriend from, in order, punks, ninjas, and alien ape men, among others). Most of the stages seem to be inspired by Western and Southern Europe with a shade of the Mideast, regions which 1. were and are definitely not the primary market for arcade games and 2. would've been a big mystery to most of pre-Internet Japan. Never mind how they all connect, which I can't begin to explain even with the later versions.
