Time Crisis is a Light Gun title that needs almost no introduction. Receiving a home release in 1997, you are Richard Miller, the One Man Army set to run into a hotel which is a front for Kantaris headquarters who have been Wild Dog's arms supplier.
Join ThunderAxe31 ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/T... ) as they shoot their way through the hotel and stop Kantaris and their Mechanoids, taking the easy route in just 4'18"86 on the in-game timer.

I’ve never seen Special mode before, though I heard it has different routes with different outcomes. Is this a best ending run?

No, this aims for another ending (probably the fastest), the big wait at 2:11 is running out the clock on the first branch point to the golden ending, getting in that elevator.

does the elevator waiting in 1st stage alter the route? it's kinda rare to see TAS waste times with no reason

The Elevator either can't be skipped or the TAS is setting up RNG for later on.

The hardest route takes the elevator up. The TAS waits so it can deal with a different set of Areas.

If a stage takes 2 minutes, waiting 30 seconds to skip a stage is a net positive. I just assume the tas is doing something logical
