[TAS] SNES Dragon Ball Z: Super Saiya Densetsu "best ending" by N?K in

Dragon Ball Z: Super Saiya Densetsu (ドラゴンボールZ 超サイヤ伝説) is a role playing video game and the first Dragon Ball game for the Super Famicom. It was released only in Japan on January 25, 1992.
Super Saiya Densetsu is a remake combining two earlier Famicom games of the Gokuden series: Dragon Ball Z: Kyoushuu! Saiya Jin and Dragon Ball Z II: Gekishin Freeza!!, but without the movie characters and anime filler elements that were featured in them.
The game follows the rough outline of the Vegeta, Namek, and Frieza Sagas, with various add-ons and edits to make the story fit within the RPG guidelines, such as the inclusion of multi-colored Saibamen and re-colors of Frieza's henchmen and the Ginyu Force members as common enemies.

Yamcha gets too much hate IMO. Sure he died in that fight but so did Chaotzu. And Yamcha at least had the courage to face the androids and Cell; Chaotzu was a wuss and never even showed up.

rafterscott the thing about Yamcha was that his death pose became a meme, even in Japan. Yamcha beibg weakly is mostly just a recurring joke in the DB franchise. Everyone knows that Chiaotzu is weaker.

I used to play this game, no translation, and for a long time I had no idea about how to proceed with the Dende event, so I was pretty much grinding a lot trying to find what to do. Gohan was the strongest fighter even compared to Goku, unless he went SS, of course. Reminded me of when I played Reiyarth RPG on SNES, same problem, grinded so much because I had no idea how to continue, and the next fight, in the sky palace, I had to fight against my two brainwashed comrades... If I killed them, I would lose... I probably needed to lose... But I was too strong...

would love to hear commentary on this just to learn what the tricks were or what mattered where. Even so, fun video! definitely a fun game. Also its absolutely hilarious to break Gohans PL with the moon card later in the game, combined with the "heal at lower HP" leveling trick.

@@felipesuarez3917 It's Goku's level. If he's Level 34-35 after all his gravity training, he'll arrive before the Jeice & Burter fight. But if he's higher than that, he'll only be there for Ginyu. So basically, you want to complete King Kai's training early enough that you get Goku for Nappa, but no earlier.

It's a sorta minigame in which Goku is trying to "win" against the gravity. Then he fits King Kai to learn Kaioh Ken.

You could get goku and gohan's health really low then give them health items to make them stronger just like the anime. The fastest way to level them and easiest way to beat king kai's planet minigame.

A lot of the more insane glitches don't work on Version 1.1 (which is unfortunately what all the English translations use). The Radar Skip still works, but the BP overflow glitch doesn't (which also means the cloning glitch doesn't work). Instead, you have to tackle Cui-Cui early and do an EXP underflow glitch to level Gohan to LVL 48. That involves doing some funny stuff with Vegeta that I'm going to demonstrate, once I'm ready to upload my LP.

Back in the 90s, I was envious of Japan. They got the best things whereas 90s American kids had to deal with strict strait religious parents. Everything in the Japanese version was too weird for cartoons and video games aimed to American children. Everything in the Japanese version got censored only because American parents were led to believe that all the content in the Japanese was too strange for American children. As a grown man, I'd always knew too much censorship was a bad thing and it was more than just protecting children from mature content.

I was young but i finished the game a special way... My goku swapped his body with Ginyū's. At the end of the game i could switch Ginyū body with frieza's . When you switch bodys you also switch all the power and the types of attack. At the end it was frieza flying with gohan ! I swear it's true. Anyone else tried it ? Thank's for the video :)
