This is actually the best introductory noise-reduction tutorial I've EVER seen. Explains threshold, reduction, and release. This bro should get an award! Subscribed. THANK YOU!

Hi. Serious "thanks" to you man. I actually set my Tascam to record as I watched, so the meters were reacting to your demo, and exactly reproduced the effect. Obviously I have to "tweak" the settings slightly to suit my own situation, but the assurance of seeing your demo work ON my Tascam has given me a great starting point, and confidence. Have great day, week, month, life!

Wow...that is SO cool..i live about half a mile from an interstate...and the traffic noise is usually tolerable, like waves on the beach...white noise...my studio room is on that side of the house , and in my old house my mics picked up the refrigerator motor, so id unplug it, not real good. So i was concerned. But this trick should work fine for both...that saves me a LOT of anxiety...i subscribed

I just received my DP-32 and one of things I knew I had to deal with is the room noise in my studio. This will help a lot, thank for sharing a very useful tip.

Mine freezes up after about 10 minutes of use. I've spent more money looking for the perfect SD card than paid for the Tascam DP-24SD. I still have the same problem. My system version is 1.09 0026. I've lost hours of recordings. Anything else I can try. Reply

LOve this, and thank you. But I need hand held in all depts; why did you skip the "attack" settings?? I see on your vid it is at 100ms so I will try that, but just curious that your otherwise brilliantly clear and helpful video omits that? If you can add that it is a clean sweep! and a clean sound of course!

Hi, useful video, but wouldn't you use the input / dynamic effect (noise suppressor) instead of the insert (guitar effect)?
@frankardos421111 жыл бұрын
hey bud. I also use the dp24 as well. I may ask you some questions in the future if that's ok w/u? I have little experience w/anything pc and wave file transferring,etc...which is why I got an all in 1 unit in the first place. Thanks for posting bro. God Bless.

Thank you. Is there a setting for kids screaming and carrying on in the background? Somewhere in the 60 dcb range ; )
@MrStudioHound10 жыл бұрын
mvortex1 Hah.... I wish! You can use a "close mic" technique with a unidirectional mic and record at low volumes. To help, if you use a heavy blanket behind you and point everything away from the door, you will be less likely to get the reflection of the sound coming off the wall. There are people that make portable sound booths. They are like little cubes that you can poke your head in and record. Search for them on Amazon.

Wouldn't be better to use noise suppression or compressor in the dynamics instead of guitar effect? In this case it would leave you room to use effects

Another way is to record in a room without a fan or refrigerator. That usually works!

В то время, как индикатор уходит на ноль (типа, тишина), я всё равно слышу шум комнаты (в наушниках хорошо слышно). Да и во время звучания голоса шум слышен.

How do u change from pre to post fader?
@MrStudioHound10 жыл бұрын
Bigg i am him You can have effects on the input (pre-fader) or the track (post-fader). Other than that the only place to change from pre or post fader is on the effects send.

I need help putting mor then one effect on a single track? I lay a vocal track and will only let me apply one effect. I would like to have reverb and delay on one track?
@ItsMrEverything8 жыл бұрын
Bruh I think u can only have one effect at a time...so I'm thinking...record wit reverb...then bounce to anotha track...on the new track add delay...jus make sure your initial reverb recording is what u like exactly

Have you ever heard of a noise gate DUH
@MrStudioHound10 жыл бұрын
Randy Jones I have heard of a noise gate. The problem with the noise gate is the level of background ambient noise.
@puffdaddy108010 жыл бұрын
Yeah Randy, you douche bag, do some research before you open your yap. StudioHound, thank you VERY MUCH for this info. I just rec'd my dp24 and this helps immensely! Unfortunately, there are immature, uneducated fops like RANDY JONES who have to spill their stupidity upon gracious people like you who took the time to help others. Rock on StudioHound! And RANDY "DOUCHE BAG" JONES, please, crawl into your mixer and shut your noise gate!
