Hello Eric, great question! Descriptive audio is usually that is selected on the media itself. The BD-MP4K doesn't have sophisticated internal audio routing options, so the audio only HDMI output will only transmit the same audio signal that's coming from the audio/video HDMI output.

Can you stream files from a NAS onto the 4K player? I use bubble UPNP software on my phone to push M2TS files to my current 4K player but it doesn't have a 1000mbps ethernet so struggles with 4K movies and am looking for a replacement

Hello! The ethernet port on the BD-MP4K supports SMB1/CIFS for network playback.

Where can i get a replacement disc drive for my Tascam BD-O1U Blu-ray player. It still plays the drawer just won't come out and i have to remove the top to play a disc.

Hello! With the BD-Series, DVD playback is region-free. However, Blu-Ray playback is region specific.

I keep getting the "Could not find the upgrade file!" message. I dowloaded the firmware *.zip files, extracted them and put the two files referred to in the *.pdf into a folder called "UPG" on an SD card, but I keep getting the same message.

Hello Maj Jam. No, the BD-MP1 and BD-MP4k do not support Dolby Atmos.

@@p.m.hyltonsr3585 at this time, no. ATMOS piggybacks it's information on certain Dolby signals that are not supported by these units just yet. We're not saying that this option won't be available in the future, but there are no immediate plans to offer this.

@@TASCAMUSA are you sure about that? I have hooked a BD-MP4K up to a genuine Dolby Atmos decoder (commercial cinema with a Dolby IMS3000) with a Dolby Atmos disc and it did play Dolby Atmos. The player was installed in 4Q 2023. Now, if the the question was if they have Dolby Atmos analog outputs...then no...but it does pass the Dolby TrueHD and Atmos bitstreams.
