I just wanted to say how cool it is that you loved USC for so long and finally got there by transferring. I got rejected from my dream school and so many other schools I wanted to go to, but I'm going to keep doing my best during my freshman year and hopefully transfer. So, thanks for inspiring me to reach my college goals by showing me that getting rejected by your dream school is not the end.

I loved my USC experience!!!!....brilliant profs...met my dental student husband....hard work...parties....sorority, Alpha Phi...the full fab experience...I loved every minute that prepared me perfectly for the life I was to live!...I visited my best friend at Stanford, and felt sad for her.

HONESTLY, Compared to other private schools USC isn't all that more expensive. I went to a division 3 school (University of La Verne) and the tuition at the time as like $35,000, which was on the cheaper side of all the private schools in the area. Today, I think the tuition for University of La Verne is almost $40,000. Chapman University, Occidental College, Claremont McKenna, Pomona Pitzer, etc are all approximately $50k. USC is now what? $60k or $65k...not that much more expensive.

Most people don't have the privilege of comparing the affordability private schools because they're all too expensive to even be an option.

if you can't afford apply anyways - most schools with large endowments will pay most of your tuition for you. sitting on the sidelines and not trying yes you won't get in

Thanks for the video, I'm from Minnesota and I just toured USC and UCLA and in my opinion USC is the school for me and I absolutely love it. I love how it's flat and only come upon stairs when you reach a building. Yeah the neighborhood is sketchy but, the campus is wonderful especially the new village. Any advise on how I should approach starting my essay or what I should leave out of it and include in it?

Maybe it's just because I got lucky with my suitemates, but I loved Parkside IRC. To me, the social aspect of New North wouldn't be worth the notorious stories I'd hear about vomit in the sinks and the stairwells EVERY weekend haha (no judgment though, everyone is different) :)

Gracie Flanders she first was rejected when applying senior year, so she attended LMU for her freshman before transferring to USC in the spring of her sophomore year!! :-)

Hey! I know that this is SO late but I want to apply to USC but I am super worried about the area. I made the poor decision of googling the surrounding area and I found that there are a lot of gang violence related crimes. Do you think that the students are targets for these crimes? I am not from CA so I do not have any experience... The other thing that I wanted to ask was where do you go to have fun bc of the area. Thank you and I am so sorry for the super loaded question!!

Emmy I’m not from California but I have a lot of family there so it’s like a second home to me, and the neighborhood really isn’t as bad as people make it out to be. LA has different areas like all other cities, and some are safer than others. If you look into the crimes I’m pretty sure you will see that students aren’t exactly specifically targeted. I know they try to make the campus and area right around it super safe. As for what to do for fun, idk except for going to DTLA or Santa Monica on the metro. Hope this helped !! :)

Allyson jj It depends on where your college is located like if it's in small town or big city. Like USC is in a city so there is public transportation, and it's easier to get Uber or Lyfts . If it's a small town then maybe you should bring your car. It also depends if your college allows freshman to bring their cars, because some don't.
