I know you're planning on having a ground time display for the full TAS. At the end, do you plan on showing the distribution of where all the grounded time came from? I know most of it will be from focusing and item pickups, but I'm also curious to see the room navigation distribuiton from room before dash, after dash, after claw, and after wings. I'm sure it's an ever shrinking share of the percentage, but it'd be cool to know how much things like claw reduce the amount of time on the ground.

Yeah, I was thinking of doing something like this. I have data on grounded time at each frame, so I'll just need to go through and identify the sections that are longer than one frame worth.

Question: at 11:45 when you realize you're clipping the corner, why do you place the dash two frames later? If the clipping was so marginal wouldn't one have been enough? Or am I misunderstanding how inputs and frames work in the game? This is a really cool video btw, never seen something like this before.

We're TASing at 100 fps, but the physics update rate is actually at 50 fps. A lot of inputs (like jumps and dashes) only actually execute on physics frames, so moving it later by a single frame may not actually make it happen later, depending on physics frame alignment. There are some subtle things that happen with sub-physics-frame inputs, which is why we TAS at 100 fps in the first place, but when trying to actually move an action to happen earlier or later, it makes sense to increment 2 frames at a time.

Actually starting to hold a direction 1 frame before you get control doesn't do anything besides causing the walking animation to not stop briefly.
