Hi, it’s amazing what you can achieve when the propagation plays ball, I once made a contact to a VK7 from a friend’s sail boat at Anchor on the River Alde in Suffolk, not far from the BBC world service Transmission site at Orford Ness, it was about 0730 hrs, using a 17 foot telescopic whip and low power! My mate was very impressed as was i.Being near the Sea made all the difference ! Thanks for taking us along, 73 M0KVA

Reception on SW was amazing last week, I even picked up 3 stations broadcasting on the 11m band for the first time in Ireland at 25635, 25735 and 26100 kHz (well, those frequencies are my radio's memory, Tecsun Pl-880, from scanning the bands). One of them sounded like an African station, but there was noting on the shortwave schedule to tell me what it was.
