Lived and worked at Rosebery in the '70s. Nothing better than day trips to Gormanston, Strahan and Ocean Beach on my trusty Bonneville.

The road is just the same and in nearly 50 years the only things that have changed are the Renault, the Salmon farms in Macquarie Harbour and the cruise boat. Queenstown and Zeehan are much tidier and there has been some mining rehabilitation. Oh, and the fashion, but I love the boots!!!!!!!!!!!!

We did the very same trip about a month ago, great to see how it has and not changed. Fantastic part of the world. And yes great to see the Renault 16, as Simon said 6 months ago. They were excellent cars.

Had a wild road trip to Strahan in the late 70s !!! Goodness couldn’t the locals drink- had a great time with a local girl and ended up waking up naked under a bean bag in a complete strangers house 😂😂 had to streak up the road to the house we were staying at 😂😂😂 great times

You can clearly see this was written, directed and produced by stodgy old school men from the Tasmanian public service that never went out much .

I'm only 4 minutes in and I'm laughing out loud! The way they describe they "beauty" of the Queenstown and surrounds landscape is priceless. Don't get me wrong though, that area has its own charm and beauty that I appreciate, but this seems like a whitewash of why the place looks the way it does.

a lot of folks think that the moon's surface looks beautiful! If you can't get your hands on a telescope, there's always queenstown! Lizzy must have been so proud! Or was it Vicky?

Was a very good road when I lived in the area '76-'79. Well maintained and very much suited motorcycles.

The pioneers had a hard time.. 😮 shall we include what the pioneers did to the people they came across when they moved onto the land! Probably not wouldn't want that history to be known would they!

Like a lot of places around the world, the image portrayed is not the reality, describing Queenstown as gorgeous is a bit far fetched considering the ecological damage. It’s the same today with our fisheries, supposedly world class while they dam and pollute all the remaining free flowing rivers.
