As a combat medic I’ve never found the “Perfect Bag”. So just like you I’ve got different kits depending on the mission set. We do use an older version of the Tasmanian Tiger for our Combat Life Savers and they work well. The big issue is fitting a med kit in a field pack and having it easily accessible and being able to replace it with mini,al fuss.

The handles you mentioned are intended to quickly grab the bag when still open and run short distance to help another person. Think of triage. Open the bag, patch the guy, grab the bag by the two handles, run, help the next guy. No zipping and unzipping...

Bought the medium two weeks ago and carry it in the truck every day. Absolutely fantastic. Wish I’d bought the large! It stores everything I need as an AEMT except a C-collar. Full trauma kit with color coded inside pouches for hemorrhage control, IV access, and airway, along with loops to hold trauma dressings, supraglottic airways, etc. Can’t go wrong with this!
@samhayford74902 жыл бұрын
I saw on their website that they make a normal and small bag combo. I am an AEMT and was wondering what you made of the combo. My ideal set up would be the small would be life threatening treatment with the main larger bag my diagnostic, meds, more secondary treatment/assessment. Also would be easier to bring a small bag for interior work.

Actually, the regular size, which is already the second iteration, is the original. The small and large came much later. Therefore you see differences between them. They are improvements not yet implemented in the regular size. I guess a mark 3 model is in order.

@macl97252 жыл бұрын
You can store the handles in the upper part of the outer pockets. Above the small Velcro ( this is to avoid that the handles fall down in teh lower part of the pocket) -or cut them away if you don´t need them.

I’m packing the medium one right now, In Kramatorsk! I think the elastic bands in the bleed and airway bags are useless. They don’t hold much thicker than a a tampon. I rather have big pockets so I can pack either Israelites of flat stuff like dressing etc
@chrishugs61732 жыл бұрын
In my opinion med bags need a beaver tail type pocket like a lot of hydration packs have. That way I can carry extra clothes and snacks or I can cinch it flat.

Those handles that you hate are for at least two reasons. 1 so you can grab both handles and move the bag from Casualty to Casualty without having to zip up everytime. 2 so you can hang the bag from a vehicle or wall and work out of it hanging more like you set up a treatment sight or CCP.
@PrepMedic2 жыл бұрын
Yeah but I can hang it just as well with the main handle.

@@PrepMedic around a vehicle headrest or helicopter that requires a piont on top and bottom? Seems like the main handle is to small. Also quick collapse and movement from multiple Casualties having handles is better then zipping up everytime.

Looks like the large one is only $20 more than the regular one, which makes me wonder why they even made the regular one. Getting the .5 inches in depth, the elastic bands on the inside and an extra row on each side outside really makes those $20 more worth in my eyes. I also don't think that the .5inch in depth will give you the feeling that the bag is "too large" for your use and that the regular one would've been more fitting.

I have the tt fist responder move on mkII. This backpack is basically two backpacks you can take apart. You got you big backpack, and onfront there is the medium medic assault pack attached to it with a sip lock. Would be perfect for SWAT work. Carry the small one when you can leave your big one near by, but if you have to move alot you can carry all your equipment. When you reach your target, you can separate them and only carry the assault pack with you, but when it’s safe again you can get the big one. I am actually thinking about putting a little monitor inside of mine. A lot of special forces use this packpack

@@PrepMedic There's combat medics, there's the "good idea fairy" brigade and then there's the regular doctors and surgeons. Number 1 and 3 always do all the work. Just not a fan of these "situational" medkits. Now everything is either regular or tactical even if it works the same. So instead of getting reworked and field-tested gear you get these Mickey Mouse "what if" kits. Why not just rework the standard issue ones? Would have saved more money and lives that way.
@PrepMedic Жыл бұрын
@@mambapopenhoffer8706 That makes zero sense. You understand that these bags are standard issue in a lot of units around the globe right? "standard issue" is not a brand and is not the same thing in every military, LE, and medic organization let alone unit. Ergo, companies make better, more organized, more lightweight, tougher, bigger, smaller etc... to meet both specialized and broad needs.

Hey Sam, how big is the medium or large backpack in relation to a C-Collar like the Leardal Stifneck Select or the Ambu Perfit ACE? Would they both or exspecially the ambu once fit in the medium one without folding them?
@konnidu50402 жыл бұрын

@@makedonum I use the small for my EDC. I like to carry as little as possible, but even fully loaded, it's quite comfortable to wear. I removed the panels and bought hook and loop pouches and inserts to suit my needs and work great to keep things in place or swap out as needed. I'll will eventually pick up the large for personal item travel. If you carry more stuff as EDC then the large will be great for you.
