We have incidents every week, because these people can't rid off their selfish bumptious behaviour. The saddast point, the calm quiet little town now is like when the tourists come during summers, but they build big houses on every centimeters. We have some dangerous-like places in Hungary too, but there are only a few crimes. Most of these happens inside the poor gypsy ghettos. In the capital, there are more and some areas are unsafe, but not as bad as there. Here is very safe, there is nothing to afraid of except the wild boars in the nature. Some locals never lock any doors, cars etc. It's always make me sad, when a very old great country/nation/culture is seems like "collapsing". Who put them behind that playstation? Everyone complaining about the kids but Playstations aren’t cheap. The harsh truth is that the world the ever and always complaining adults made for them simply is boring, and most parents are overly protective, seeing danger behind every blade of grass. You can complain about the children all you want but who raised them? And who raised these parents? Look in a mirror before you start whining.

I used to shoot on a farm and there is a single track road between 2 fields, I crossed the road without putting the shotgun in a case and a few minutes later the police turned up. There were no cars or pedestrians anywhere to be seen when I crossed so it could only have been somebody from a house a few hundred yards away that must have called them. We live in rural upper coastal Northern California Redwood country! A group of tourists hiking illegally on our land called the cops on us for building a fence on public lands. Long story short they were cited for trespassing. Then they wonder why we're so cautious with tourists.. And no were not"growers" it's too cold here for that specific plant.

I was prior service US Army. This is what we used to do because eating MREs gets dull when you have them so often: 1. Get the Beef Stew MRE 2. Trade one of the other guys for their Cheese Spread pack (I used to trade the Charms candies for it) 3. Heat the Beef Stew and Cheese Spread together in the heater (FYI, we always filled that bag almost halfway with water, made heating faster and more consistent) 4. Open the Beef Stew pack along the long edge, pour in molten hot Cheese Spread, mix and enjoy (you can toss in Tabasco sauce at this point as well) 5. For dessert, take the Hot Coco mix and add the instant coffee, creamer, warm water, stir well, add some Peanut Butter (if yours came with it) and you have a type of pudding

To put this in perspective though, you could go your entire life in the UK and not see firearms. It’s not maybe as rare in the countryside or farmland but I live surrounded by farms and it’s really not common. If you know, you know that guns in their carry bags are not really the MO of criminals. I would sooner the cops check than not though. It’s a very different set of circumstances here.

@@jonmoore873: Not entirely true. The police in Northern Ireland always have a side arm. At one time it was revolvers until they migrated onto semi-automatic pistols. In the '70s they would also have been armed with H&K MP5s. It struck me that the person reporting the incident might have thought they were terrorists burying an arms cache. No harm done, it added interest to the video and made for an interesting story for his wife.

USA police feel threatened when being social, whereas cops in many other countries would come in firm, but not really threatening... if they can see your hands then they relax a little, but most times if they don't see a weapon they won't pull theirs out unless you done something really stupid interaction with cops the other day with me is that about 10 cops banged on my door, announced themselves and demanded all occupants came out, we came out, they saw we had nothing in our hands and they relaxed a little, one started to question us while the other started frisking us to do a "CYOA" for weapons or additional charges, they found nothing. Once they did the frisk they became luke warm and started to be more negotiable and didn't treat us as actively hostile, they understood why I had a heated exchange with my neighbours but found no evidence of a knife, there was no knife. Once everything was cleared up they asked me if I wanted to charge the other person with "tampering with utilities" but I declined. They left, nobody died and my liberties are still in tact, no bail is needed. they never treated me like friends but they also never treated me like I was hostile, they came with caution... left with a story.

Thats the difference in the USA to England. In the Uk few own guns. Its either criminals with no registration or land owners. Thats it. And the police just do or say whatever they want and interpret the law as they see fit in a situation. So they stride around on private land etc with no warrants at all. Things seem reasonable...but aren't. In the USA the police expect the land owner or house owner to have guns, its a given. Hence they are far less likely to just barge in or walk in etc as they know they could easily be shot at, if a person feels under threat. It can then get out of control fast. In the UK the police love themselves and love the job and love bossing people about and having their "powers" a lot of them are in the job for that reason. They often allow people totally unsuitable physically to do the job as well..such as that small blonde woman who would not be much use if a physical fight no matter what training given or what equality etc says...

@@Simon-xc5oy To give the police in the UK some credit, I've only ever had good interactions with them when it's firearm or air-rifle related. You occasionally get someone with what they believe to be genuine concern report something. We had someone report us taking shotguns into a Gun Club of all places. The police rocked up, no drama just asked to see the certificate and check the registrations. All good, away they went. You could tell they were not there because they wanted to be, just because they have to respond to a report. To be completely honest, my land or otherwise, I'd much rather they check and it be nothing than the opposite be true.

And in all my life wandering the Uk I have never, ever seen either of them in the wild....The adder is supposed to be scared to death of everything and legs it (well slithers) any time it sees or hears anything at all....the only time I ever read of bites, is if someone is walking in deep heather on remote moors and somehow accidentally steps on one, if its not got out of the way in time...I feel a bit sorry for them if I am honest and I cant stand snakes....They seem to like the south mostly and its warmer there, I am in the North East and its like Winterfell in Game of Thrones for about 11 months of the year...

Great episode Mike. L o v e the tent... probably not the price. I'm an American veteran so I've had plenty of MRE's. My favorites are • Beef Stew • Mini Meatballs in Marinara sauce • Italian Sausage • Southwest Beef & Beans • BBQ Beef Strips. You got lucky with the heating bag... one out of 5 or 6 is a DUD. We also love the cheese spread packets (the bacon flavored). Beware of American MREs with Eggs. I haven't really had any other MREs except for the British (those ARE the best as far as taste, and all the extras tossed in... drink mixes, coffee, tea, cocoa, water purification tabs, lifeboat matches...) I was assigned to the HMS Amazon as liaison when she made Port of Call in the USA prior to Falklands Guardship duties in 1992. I've seen the French & Italian ones. I'll pass. The Italian MREs come with a miniature folding BCB stove (not the one you fold by hand, but an exact miniature of the regular BCB). Some have the low alcohol content aperitif. European MREs are expensive over here. Your police seemed to be decent enough. With all the "unrest" they have to be careful. Here in the States the U.S. Supreme Court is reviewing camping in public by the homeless. Many of our police treat homelessness as a crime. At least I can say that I didn't tolerate my officers to mistreat the homeless. Cheers... P.S. I went to the POMOLY website and this tent is under $200... $180 +/-. They offer a dozen different types and the $ range is from $180 to $ several hundred.
