ّAgree 100%. I wonder if European Classical music or Opera singings were inspired by Persian classical music and its traditional singing? After I saw Yo Yo Ma's Silk Route Concert about his beloved Cello and where it really came from! it definitely leads me to my own assumption as well as your comment. Special kind of 8 which has the habit of sounding odd like a 7. It's basically a fast 4+2+2.

I didn't know it could exist, and in fact I was becoming mad since it seemed to me 7 in some sections, but in others I clearly was hearing 4!!!!!Such complexiity of persian music!!! @@parishadnz.6048 Oh, I see what you mean now about this one: the introduction in the first 50 sec. or so is not the 8 rhythm I mentioned: it sounds like 3+3+3+2+2 (?), so actually 13, or maybe there is an extra beat to make 14, very difficult to count it! Then it goes to 8. I will look at the Shahoo link.
