The Blue Cheese and celery is to calm down the hot sauce. You can also use Ranch Dressing.

Mr H with the dad joke. After I cook the wings I make my own buffalo sauce with melted butter and hot sauce. I toss the wings in the sauce. Then serve with the blue cheese on the side. Some also use ranch dip. Excellent job.

Usually the buffalo sauce is made with the Franks red hot sauce and melted butter.

Actually it is Frank's, vinegar and melted butter...

@@daricetaylor737 yeah. It's absolutely NOT a dipping sauce. It's a tossing sauce! 🤣🥰🥰

Frank's with honey and butter melted together in a pan on the stove makes a nice sauce
@momD61215 күн бұрын
The Frank's isn't supposed to be a dipping sauce. Normally you melt butter with it & toss the wings in it. Then use ranch or blue cheese for the dipping. But Frank's isn't a dip, more of a marinade. 😉🥰🥰
@flamingpieherman982214 күн бұрын
I'm not sure that Frank's really a marinade either... It's actually the original sauce that was used up in New York with the wings...
@momD61214 күн бұрын
@flamingpieherman9822 well, to each their own. But I usually marinade my wings overnight in Frank's & other stuff. Then, after frying them up, melt a stick of butter in a pot full of Frank's sauce & toss them up.... then on to the actual dipping dressings.... but tamato/poe-tah-tot-oh.....to each their own. 🙃🥰🥰 my point was: Frank's isn't a dipping "sauce". It's a seasoning for the wings before, during, or after. However ya do ya wings. 😏😆🥰
@rrmcbride55515 күн бұрын
You don't use spices. You deep fry in oil till crispy and toss them in a mixing bowl with hot sauce to coat them. That's it. But they need to be CRISPY!
i like my wing with the hot sauce already on them then put a little blue cheese on yummy!!

The bleu cheese dip is designed to cut the heat of the wing sauce after you get a good zing off it.I think you need to up the heat level and then make Elana her own so it's not too hot The wings are also good in a lemon honey, teriyaki,and BBQ style too

Mrs H, you are correct-use your own seasonings when you cook the chicken wings (THEN Next time) try taking the crystal Louisiana sauce. pour into a sauce pan, add 1/2 cup of butter and cook till butter is melted and incorporated into the sauce. You will have it hot and ready to dip the cooked wings in it. I serve mine with blue cheese did but also ranch dressing as that is what my grandkids love💖. It is one of many dishes we have for football and ALWAYS for superbowl.

I like to dip it , dip it! My grandson laughed so hard when I told him that a few months ago! His big brother gets that from me but he and his mom (my daughter do not). We were sharing some onion rings and chicken nuggets when we had the to dip or not to dip conversation along with the need to have our own dips to ourselves so that it’s okay to double dip. I hope we never forget that conversation, it’s the highlight of my year! Gotta love those belly laughs, especially when they get into the preteen years when certain things are no longer cool! Hopefully they will never deem good old belly laughs uncool! Much love and soak up some belly laughs whenever possible! Have a truly blessed new year!

You guys always want to eat everything separately. The point is the flavor combination.. You dip the wing in the bleu cheese, then take a bite of celery with your bite of chicken and sauce.

In the US wing shops often have a dozen or more flavors. This is easy to replicate for a party by deep frying the wings till crispy with just salt and pepper for a basic seasoning on the raw chicken. once fried you have several bowls of different spicy/ savory sauces that you toss the fried chicken in. Spicy Barbeque, Traditional Hot with Franks or Louisiana sauce, Honey Mustard, sweet and spicy Asian style, etc. The sauce options are limited only by your creativity.

The story is that a woman in Buffalo New York had to feed her son and some of his college friends unexpectedly. She didn't have much but she fried some chicken wings with no coating, just salt and pepper (I presume) and tossed it in a bowl with melted butter and Tabasco sauce. The celery and odds and ends was all she had as a "salad" type side. My favorite hot sauce is Sriracha or Cholula, but both are hotter than Frank's or Louisiana I believe. Sriracha has some stuff in it like garlic, very tasty, Cholula is made from a small very hot pepper called a piquin plus De Arbol peppers which a a common Mexican hot pepper with some dry heat.

You got part of the story right but some of it is wrong, Frank's hot sauce and melted butter only,toss fried chicken wings and serve with blue cheese and celery and carrots,,you can modify your own style but the original is the only way that you can say it is a true story, Frank and Teresa invented it at the Anchor bar in 1964 in Buffalo New York.

It’s originally bar food. Meant to be eaten while drinking beer. Bar food = game watching food = tailgating food. And buffalo wings are supposed to be deep fried and tossed in a sauce made of Franks and butter.

My favourite way of doing chicken wings : Marinate overnight in buttermilk (you can easily make buttermilk - 1 cup full cream milk + 1 tablespoon white vinegar, stir together - rest for 5 mins - strain the bodgy bits out if you want but as a marinade, I don’t bother) Next day in some flour, then egg, and coat with decently finely crushed up various flavoured, including spicy, corn chips / Doritos or whatever brand. (A blender makes short work of this). Cook hot in the bbq for 30 - 40 minutes. Can add whatever dry seasoning to the flour or wet seasoning to the egg - bloody superb

I don’t care for wings, but I love the Buffalo chicken dip, served warm from a crockpot or oven! Mrs H, you should make the dip for the next party you have, served with a hearty chip/crisp or bread (nothing as flimsy as a regular chip/crisp)

So here's another buffalo sauce recipe you can try. First, hot sauces are not all the same. They vary in flavor widely and I use different brands for different dishes. For buffalo wings, I use Texas Pete's. Put one cup of sauce in a sauce pan (or in Bri' 'ish: saucep'n 😏), add a half cup of butter, 1 tsp of white vinegar, 1/4 tsp of black pepper, and (optionally), 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper. Simmer until the butter is melted and the ingredients have a chance to combine, then pour over the wings in a bowl. I like to take my next wing from the bottom. I try not to simmer too long because the vinegar that you've added and the vinegar in the sauce evaporates and depletes a lot of the flavor.

Everyone has tips on how to make these. I shake mine in a bag with some garlic powder, onion powder an a couple of tablespoons of baking powder. Then out then in the fridge uncovered for at least 8 hours. Then into the oven at around 375 F till down. Makes the skins crispy. Then take them out and toss them in the sauce. For the Frank's hot sauce I use it and butter to toss them in. Ranch dressing for a dip. Other times I'll toss them in teriyaki sauce or some of Buffalo Wild Wings Asian Zing sauce.

There's some misinformation below.. You want high, indirect heat on the bird. You want a basic spice rub on the bird for flavor...THEN you impart the "big" flavor via sauce toss (dunk/dip if you totally boned that one). 3 x years serving Wings over Wicken at the summer fete schooled me on much in CB7 5XR.

You had dry wings dipped in hot sauce. Buffalo sauce is a mixture of mostly butter and Franks. Then you coat the entire wing in the sauce. Not a bad effort, but you definitely didn’t get the true buffalo wing experience.
