You had me yelling no no no as the vegemite was coming out. Buttered bread with a small pea size amount spread thinly. The instructions used to be on the jar. It's a seasoning not a spread. So sorry you had to go through that the hard way.

In New Zealand we put a drop or 2 in sauces and minced beef. I think you guys might be better off with our version. Marmite is alot milder and not as salty.

Vegemite is an acquired taste but amazing when done correctly. Next time you should put butter on the toast with the ratio 2(butter):1 (vegemite)! Lots of love from AUS! 🇦🇺

My younger sister lives in Australia. The first time I visited her there, and tried Vegemite, I didn't love it, but, as many have said in the comments, it's definitely best with a small amount. It's intense and not for everyone. Tim Tams are amazing! My brother loved Milo.

i've stories from mother saying they would rub it on the gums of teething babies (mom told me she did it to me), getting use to it from childhood... I can eat quiet a bit more per slice, and eat 4-8 slices (but with 1-2 table spoons of butter (try with melted cheese over the top, add slice of ham)...

My favorite was the Tam Tams! You both never fail to entertain! Some Australians say a very thin coating of Vegemite on toast can be pretty good. Other Australians use a spoonful of it as a punishment for losing a challenge on their channels LOL!

To have milo, you go 2 heaped spoons of milo in the glass, then add milk to about 3/4 way mix until milo is coated in milk, then eat milo on top, then drink milk

Okay, an aussie here. You’re right on with the timtams! Now Vegemite, you only need a TINY amount and put it with cheese on toast! It’s amazing! You ladies did great!

mate lets not lie here. All us aussies know that the best way to enjoy our delicious delicacy commonly known as vegemite is as simple as spreading a nicely sized dollop of butter on your slice then after letting the butter melt over the warm toasty bread spread the same amount of vegemite over it, be sure the ratio is around 55% butter 45% vegemite then enjoy. thanks mate👍

You gotta do a tim tam slam with the classic timtams - make yourself a tea, coffee or hot chocolate (ozzi points if you use the milo to make the hot choc) bite one corner off each side and use the timtam as a straw 🇦🇺 And yes, vegimite is an enquired taste i can eat it by the spoon full 😅 but even im seen as strange with it 😅😅

Interestingly, you commented that it doesn't taste chickeny enough, it is actually one of the few chicken flavoured foods to contain actual chicken (chicken fat specifically) and thus is not safe for vegetarians.

Ok. for Kendra... As a coffee addict, the true Australian way to have a tim tam is to nibble on one corner, then nibble on the diagonally opposite corner thus creating a breathable straw like connection between the corners. Then dip one nibbled corner into a fresh hot cup of coffee and suck. The chocolate, biscuit and coffee combine into a true culinary delight. And yes, one of the joys of of being Australian is watching non Australians try Vegemite. 😎

Make sure the toast has just popped bc it's a race against the clock. You need to butter both pieces HEAVILY so the butter melts perfectly. Then once majority butter is melted (never use a squeezy bottle) apply a SMALL amount onto your knife and spread evenly also if you add a slice of cheese it'll help with the taste for those first trying it

So the shapes in those are like snacks we bring for school, you can get box ones and they are bigger, so the packet ones are smaller versions of the ones you can get in boxes. Also all the chips you tried are my favourite haha

Crunchy just means it's fresh! .... well.... except for laundry (Sorry, I raised a teenage boy who went through a phase where he wore the same pair of socks until they could do a load of clothes on their own...foooooouul. thank God that phase went away. There was a time that I came home from work and my whole end of the house smelled like something died. After almost an hour of checking for a dead animal, I went into my bathroom and he had dropped his hellborn, rotten, sweaty socks over the floor vent. We had a looooong talk about hygiene and maturity and he did his own freaking laundry after that lol. (Plus I told him if it happened again he was going to find them stuffed into his pillow 😏). Vegemite is the leftover yeast extract from the bottom of the brewing vats of our beer distilleries hence it's very strong flavor the proper way to eat it is piping hot toast swimming in butter with a VERY thin layer over the butter like a tiny pea sized amount on the end of your knife if you want something a little more pleasing to the palette I'd recommend Promite it's like Vegemite but way more savory and not nearly as sharp.

I do live Vegemite when it's done right. It also works well on a cheese sandwich. Make sure you butter the inside of bread though Tim Tam's also taste better when you refrigerate them. You can also drink a hot beverage through them if you bite off one corner then the diagonal corner and use it like a straw

Vegemite is fantastic, it's best on Toast with tons of butter/margarine with a high butter to vegemite ratio. It also goes nicely on a sandwich with cheese so that fat from the cheese mixes nicely with the saltiness and umami flavour of the vegemite. You put way too much vegemite on the bread and this is a common problem that foreigners do when they try vegemite.

Kendra, you had it right the first time. The amount of vegemite you had on the knife was the maximum amount to spread it on toast. But you put butter on the toast first and let the butter melt in. It's not like Nutella, you don't scoop it or spray it on like that.

With the vegimite, only put a thin layer on toast with butter, you can also try cheesymite, which is cream cheese with vegimite together

With Milo you can either drink it with cold milk or you stick 6 tablespoons of it in a mug pour hot water until covering the Milo mix well then pour milk the rest of the way makes them drink much better that way

First nibble of a edge say left top then nibble of bottom right then put one of the nibbled edges into your coffee then quickly put you mouth around the exposed edge and suck melted chocolate into your mouth when you do this think of it like a straw OMG your mouth will love you forever sorry about the Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy reference anyway my two favourite girls you are welcome and if any of my countrymen ask who told you "The Secret" you did not get it from me.

OMG! That is way too much Vegemite for your 1st taste lol Buttered toast and a small scraping of vegemite over the whole piece of toast. Would love to see you try Vegemite again when done right. Having said that, as an Australian I have it quite thick. Love these videos, keep it up, so much fun! Yes i eat it, a lot, almost daily. Additionally, I have never used the squeezy bottle, only ever the jar, its less liquid from the jar.

@HaileeandKendra you put a big spoon full of milo in a cup, then put the milk over top. Some of the milo rises, and you just use a spoon to eat it. It gradually mixes in with the milk, but mostly, you just eat it with a spoon in the cup of milk. Have you ever heard the joke about not adding milk to the milo because it ruins it?

I grew up with Vegemite and I love it, but I am also weird amongst Aussies because I like it spread thick. Most have toast with lots of butter and a very small amount of Vegemite. Also Vegemite doesn't go off. It will likely outlast the glass it is stored in.

There's a clip from the tonight show with Hugh Jackman showing the correct way to eat vegemite. Proud to say as an Australian I have this for breakfast every morning. The amount Hugh demonstrates is the correct amount for someone starting off their vegemite adventure, but I've been eating that stuff for two decades and can eat it by the spoonful end genuinely enjoy it. Vegemite is definetly considered an aquired taste in large quantities, but in small servings (how Hugh showed), it really is a neat little treat that anyone can easily enjoy.

Tim-Tams are definitely my favorite from when i was there. I really enjoyed meat pies too but those have to be made relatively fresh. The ones I've seen in various US grocery stores claiming to be Aussie are absolutley NO comparison.

As an Australian who adores Vegemite we do in fact enjoy it however it is nothing like Nutella. It’s a type of spread that is savoury and what I do every morning is I toast my bread, spread butter then add the Vegemite. But you have to do a thin layer to point that it’s looks like it’s been smeared on top of the butter. Unlike Nutella where it’s a chocolate base so it’s sweet. Vegemite not sweet as you already know. 😇😇😇

so there is a trick that i tried with tim tams kendra since you like coffee try the tim tam with your coffee. bite one corner on one end and then another corner on the other end and use it a straw its so good will not disappoint.

I have Vegemite with lettuce and cheese or Vegemite with butter and cheese. It tastes so good with these combination, but try not having too much Vegemite on the toast. You need to have like a little bit not too much and if you don’t like the taste of Vegemite, you have a little bit butter underneath the Vegemite and it’s really good

You can get the Milk Chocolate Tim Tams here.... or at least they were available ~6yrs ago, as I got them at Walmart. The Aussie thing to do with them, as told to me by Australians, is bite both ends off and drink your milk through it like a straw. _(until it's soaked some up, then eat it, and repeat)_ 😊 As for Marmite and Vegemite... I believe they're both a waste product of making beer... But don't hold me to that! (too tired to wiki it to confirm lol) Aaand, as a kid, I was all about milk chocolate. After 30 I started liking Dark, and it's _almost_ the only chocolate I eat now.

Dark Chocolate, as I like a little bitterness, and Dark chocolate works well with so many other flavours and bring out their highlights, Like Mint, Cherry, Rum, Orange, I could go on for hours. And dark chocolate is really nice with a decent Shiraz or Cab Sav. An so far Mint Slice is my Favourite out of everything you have there, I can eat a family pack by myself watching a movie or youtube, and then Hate myself once I've finished.

Yes we absolutely eat it and love it for its savoury taste, and no you're absolutely not doing it right hahaha. Golden rule of Vegemite, more butter than Vegemite on your piece of toast. It's powerful stuff and a little goes a long way. I think a squeezy bottle for Vegemite is a terrible idea and I haven't seen them here in Australia.
