I take a break from gallivanting around to munch and gobble my way through a selection of snacks from Canada.

Defatted peanuts are how they make protein powder. When you remove the fat & grind into flour it's protein-dense, odour free, and mostly tasteless, making it perfect as a food additive. Why anyone would think that's a good combination for a peanut flavourted candy I can't imagine. Shellac isn't as common on candy as it used to be, but it's used to give a shiny exterior. It's a way to make cheap chocolate look like fancy chocolate. You often see it in lower end Christmas chocolates. Oh, and the reason the chocolate tastes different is that every country has different legal requirements for the ratio of cocoa butter to powder to call something chocolate rather than chocolate-flavoured. Canada's, the UK, the EU, and the US are all different. The US also has more processing, which causes some people to have a weird aftertaste.

I kinda hope people send you more classic canadian snacks like Jos Louis/May West and Crispy Crunch and Coffee Crisp. Edit: oh, that wasn't the end slate and you *did* have a coffee crisp

There is a ridiculous amount of flavours and varieties of KitKat. A lot. My favourite is the salty sweet KitKat. Kit Kat is basically layering everything they can think of and what sells they make more of. It's a sweet and delicious business plan. I only got to try Strawberry KitKats once before they stopped making it. Yet, they still make the Green Tea KitKats. Green Tea KitKats are actually yummy. I never met a KitKat I didn't like.

I adore Kitkats and I have tried the Matcha ones before which I found in a Korean grocery store here in Vienna; they were smashing!

As a Montrealer M& M's I can confidently say are American whereas Smarties are Canadian
@cmlemmus4946 күн бұрын
More accurately, Smarties are British (Rowntree, 1937) and are available throughout the Commonwealth and Europe. Interestingly, it's not actually known if the inventor of M&Ms copied Smarties or not. He was in Britain in that period, so it's possible he encountered them.

@@clairdillon1762 While I fully support your right to be "confident" in your opinion, it unfortunately isn't based in fact. According to an Angus Reid poll in 2021, 52% of Canadians felt we should not remain a Constitutional Monarchy forever while 25% were comfortable with it. Note that this is just in reference to government, there are several nations which have become Republics while remaining in the Commonwealth. The question of leaving the Commonwealth isn't even being seriously asked because it would be a disaster.

Félicitations, nice effort sacrificing yourself like that, for the sake of science, of course! It might be awkward but, on your next sojourn to a shop, again for science's aggrandisement, ask a local for suggestions. Might save you loads of time and head-scratching!? Vielleicht später, wenn sie zurückkommen!? Be well and stay safe

Absolutely! I did have a few suggestions under my arm but alas could not find any of them in the supermarket. Do you have any suggestions yourself? Danke für Ihre Nachricht!

I bet that mr big was estatic orgasmic.. 😂 but next time you get canadian snacks you should go towards the chips. Miss vickies has a S tier selection, they are kettle cooked chips and pretty much every flavor is amazing. Personally i enjoy the all dressed miss vickies, honey djion, as well as the lime and black pepper, but classic canadian chips would be ruffles all dressed chips and lays ketchup. But if you get the ruffles ketchup its a very similar flavor. The pringles all dressed has no flavor in comparison to any other brands all dressed. As for all dressed everyone thinks its every flavor chip combined, but i find it closer to a light bbq. But more of a bbq seasoning that you would rub on meat. Rather then a smokey bbq or grilled meat flavor. AND every brand of chip has its own all dressed flavor profile. Miss vickies all dressed is the boldest flavor and i find ruffles is the best flavor

Ahhhhh thank you so much for the recommendations! Actually mega chuffed with myself that I properly identified the flavour of All Dressed 🤪 I would also go for the savoury snacks next time for real. I noticed chocolate/chocolate bars is not such a thing compared with salty snacks but I will 100% be back in Canada again and will buy some more! ❤

@mylemonage if you want to try a few things that are big hits you should go for nanimo bars, and butter tarts, and if you are out on the town or want a "nice drink" other then beer I recommend the cesar, it's one of my favorite cocktails and it's more widely know as a bloody mary I believe but with a little bit of a twist lol. But surprisingly S tier. One of those drinks with a bag of lime and black pepper chips or some kind of artisan crackers and spinach dip. Mmmmm
