Tygryski and Flips are specifically meant for small kids. Łapsy and Monster Munch are something in between. Most regular potato chips definitively do have flavor. If you can find those, from specifically Polish I would suggest Starchips and Przysmacki brands.
@TheRezro

Warning. In Poland alongside Pickles and Gherkins (Korniszon) you have "ogórki kiszone" what are way more sour. I mention that because lot of people confuse two and those are specifically meant to be as they are.

Łapsy as snacks are very delicate, better for kids definitely. Same for Tygryski. They are very easy to digest so that's definitely a good alternative if your kids do like chips and feel snackish but you don't want them do eat heavier snacks

What are you even talking about... Tygryski are made of corn grit that have no nutritional value but are pure carbohydrates with lots of fiber, which is indigestible. Give those to your kids if you want to see them diabetic or have non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in the future. Who in the right mind would give that to kids... You cannot just give kids anything just because you think that light in weight equals light in composition.

Rob, tygryski is a corn chisp for small kids - 1-2 years old :) when you going to walk with child - take "Tygryski" - when child is boring, when want eats something... tygryski are the best always but is really great for kid - without salt, without chemical ingredients.

Tygryski are made from corn and they should be tasteless and easy to chew. Because in Poland mostly babies and children up to 6 yo eat those. Fun part of eating this snack is to forming into something out of your imagination. Simply lick one end till its sticky, and attach second chunk that also has sticky end. After making your construction another fun begins. Try to fill your mouth with all those chunks. But not all at once. Start slow and gradually add more when you feel previous one dissolved into mass. A lot of Polish children compete among themselves who can stick more. Just like in USA with marshmallows.

Didn't expect another part, a nice surprise for a Saturday morning! As for Monster Munch, they also come in different flavors. Normal Tygryski is the stuff you get for your kids, cause it's straightly corn puffs without any flavoring, unless you get ones with coating. Przysnacki, if I remember correctly, are mostly natural, no MSG or other enhancers, that's why the flavor is milder. I really enjoy watching your content, it's amazing that some people are keen to learn about Polish culture. And great job with the pronunciation, you are getting better and better each time!

Twistos ones are fromage cheese not sour cream. And about Flips, now it's like 3 flavours toffi, strawberry, chocolate, but like 20-25 years ago there was much more like - forest mushroom, blueberry, salami, tomatoes, coconut and probably more.

Most of those weren't 'Chipsy'. Only Przysnacki and Twistos are 'Chipsy'. Łapsy is 'Prażynki' and the rest are 'Chrupki'. 'Chrupki' are corn crisps but it can be used as an umbrella term for any type of crispy snack (so 'Chipsy' can be called 'Chrupki' but 'Chrupki' are not 'Chipsy').

8:26 Przysnacki (pron.: pshi-snah-kee) is actually a coined term / neologism.. the actual word we have in Polish is PrzysMaki (pron. pshi-smah-kee) and it literally means „dainties, delicacies”, so in this case it serves as a kind of pun, as „snacki” is simply „snacks”.. i and y are common Polish plural suffixes

I think that you Brits are just used to eat overflavored food, especialy the snacks. That's why everything seems to be not salty enough. On the other hand, the Tygryski is just a basic corn snack, so you cannot demand much flavor in here. Anyway good video, cheers for you and carry on with that. 👊

Flipsy and Tygryski are for little kids, like more healthy alternative for normal crisps. Łapsy are something we called "prażynki", not "czipsy/chipsy". They're just different kind of snack, rather flavourless, but should be crispy. I haven't seen in this video my personal favourite crisps. You guys really should try Reksio (prażynki by Przysnacki, also designed for kids, but very tasty) and Wiejskie Ziemniaczki (butter with salt flavour or "Ciosane" type). You will thank me later. :D Maybe you will try some crisps made of lentils? P.S. You need to pronounce "Przysnacki" like "Pszysnacki". And big thanks for the video!

When picking pickles: - ogórki konserwowe - ogórki małosolne - ogórki kiszone are 3 different things. All are cucumbers BUT konserwowe and kiszone are made in different ways, and małosolne are early stage before going kiszone. Also, kiszone may be painful for people with sensitive teeth. I like the taste of kiszone ogórki, but if I eat one and take a regular breath but with mouth not nose, I feel wind drilling in my bones.😅 Unless they're put into typical Polish sałatka, because there they're mixed with other veggies and mayonaise with mustard. Other pickled well known thing is pickled cabbage. It can be eat solo or in surówka. Just warning: solo may have very intense taste which will twist Your face. 😁

the polish don't like strange flavours, so all the vinegary tasting ones just don't sell in poland. This might be a but strange, considering polish meals, but for crisps it's completely 180. First time i tasted vinegar chips i had two and threw them away, yuck. Also in poland you will be hard pressed finding sweet popcorn. In cinemas especially we pretty much only have salty one. I like the boring paprika taste chips. Don't remember the name anymore, since i live in uk for 5 years now, so i don't eat chips almost at all anymore. Tygryski - Little tigers Personally I do not like consistency/texture of Chrupki, like those Tygryski. In Poland when you say Czipsy, then everyone knows what kind of snack you mean. Chips in Belgian Fries style are called Frytki. Potato slices from frypan could be called Ziemniaki zasmażane. Don't really know, I just call them ziemniaki z patelni when I make them. Because of the regulations in production, the base of the puffs and crisps we collectively call "chips" in Poland makes them all very similar to one another... almost all potato-based have the same core, almost all corn-based start out the same, etc... so there aren't actually that many purely local-only snacks like that, made in Poland and not part of a larger international brand. What is localized are flavours, because most of the concepts for modern snacks, especially savory, came from the west in the 90s when markets opened up after fall of communism. So next time you're in Polish store I'd recommend taking a look at international brands you are familiar with (or not) and try different (sometimes weird) flavours that are popular here (or sometimes only available in this part of the world). Also "salty" snacks are the basic and most people don't even call them flavoured at all, unless some top shelf pricy brands that do in fact throw in mountains of salt on their products... I'm sort of disappointed you only got half of them in some actual flavour, not surprised the bland basic ones weren't doing it for you. I often use the bland basic "salty" variations as a base with dipping sauces or as a side-dish ingredient for crunchiness, hardly ever just eat them as they are... We are historically more known for making sweet confections, because we had salty and savory things all year all day everyday in our dishes for centuries... You want a salty or savory snack? Just eat a sandwich you nob! And I mean an open sandwich (we don't really do double breading for snacks) with like a slice of meat or cheese and something pickled like cucumber, or something fresh like lettuce or literally anything you find in your garden put on top xd

in poland we call crisps chips like in few other countries, and since that word has been borrowed from somwhere it has no real polish form, "chispy" is just chips, as in plural for chip and polish singular form is actually "chips". for many words when going from singular to plural we just add "y" at end. "bez wzmacniaczy smaku"= no taste enhancers, I think it supposed to mean that those have less chemical addities in them, are more natural "tygryski"=little tigers, those are corn based puffs/ chips for young children, and for that there are few rules that producion has to follow, those are usually low on sugar and fats and with as little chemical addities as possiblle the same goes for Flips Monsters are easly one of oldest brand in Poland, I rememeber buying those when I was kid, like 25 years ago. Przysnacki is 100% polish company and they make great red pepper taste crips from lentil.

Tygryski are a new brand on maeket and they are child ones mostly, and im not a fan of only salted one. Try getting W kotle prażone (and not salted ones) they are realy crunchy.

Salt and vinegar crisps aren't standard for Poland, 4 basic flavours are salt, green onion, pepper (paprika) or fromage cheese

If you want to make quick focus on small thing put your hand behind that. Most of "chrupki"(those puffy ones) are for children or for snacking with beer. Thats why they arent very flavoury and often salty.

And Przysmaki you read in this way - - > "rz" you read as "si" in a word "Vision". Same thing with Polish "ż" 😉

Tygryski are for kids. Easy to grasp, easy to digest, no flavour really. Funny to watch it, I've noticed that my vocabulary is not good enough to discuss crisps in details. My favourite crisps are Lays - Green Onion flavour. You can get them in every shop in Poland but Lays is everywhere I guess.
