Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong as I'm a qualified mechanic but only so far , and the tuning world I'm only learning by myself through videos an reading. I'm from the UK an have A gen 2 MPS myself ( stock though ) As I said correct me if I'm wrong but that chuttering waste gate sound as it starts ripping means u need a stronger waste gate does it not ? From my knowledge your loosing boost if it's doing that. As I said I'm learning an maybe wrong
@SpoolingUpPerformance3 жыл бұрын
No, although the size of the gate is important bases on your build here is why that’s happening. That noise is is the wastegate releasing excess exhaust pressure to regulate turbine speed and boost levels so your car can regulate a targeted boost pressure. If this wasn’t there the turbo would spin at max speed and you would not be able to control boost. The thing that is important is to choose the right spring to put inside. The spring inside is basically there to say this is how many pounds of pressure it takes to open the wastegate. For example if you put a 6lb spring in the wastegate and you drive the car, when the turbo makes 6psi the valve on the wastegate will crack open to release exhaust gases enough to regulate the turbo to stay at that 6psi. Now where it gets technical is when you add a boost controller to one of the ports of the wastegate. A boost controller controls the amount of manifold pressure by changing the amount of pressure going to the wastegate. For example; if you wish to increase your boost pressure above your standard wastegate actuator pressure (the “6psi”), the boost controller must accurately modify the pressure signal the wastegate actuator receives by venting an adjustable amount of pressure, forcing the turbo to produce the new, increased boost level. Hope this helped you understand it a little more. Let’s us know if you have any other questions. Alex

hey few questions... was this car the one that was originally purchased for like $10k? if so, how much was put into it after that? (sorry if this is too nosey) also, how long will a built engine last with this type of HP (within reason, 15k miles ?)
@SpoolingUpPerformance3 жыл бұрын
The pistons and rods can handle well over 8-900 hp so with us having it around 7xx before and now at around 600 it will last a long time as long as proper maintenance is done. Yes this is the car that was bought for $10k we’ve put all interior pieces back in , swapped turbos , gone through some fuel system changes , battery changes. Bought a new hood because it had a hood exit prior. Painted that with the front bumper to get rid of rock chips . Full turbo back exhaust was added. It has 3 sets of wheels and tires now.
@NinaMango7893 жыл бұрын
I spent almost 10k on a speed 6 and getting it to where I wanted before even modding (granted it needed a steering rack)😂 this things a sweet deal for sure
