I haven't eaten many insects, but I do have a colony of mealworms that I occasionally roast some of for myself. They're nutty and crunchy, and having them freshly cooked makes a huge difference.

Meal worms remind me of popcorn kernels or something. They really absorb the flavor of the oil.

I like my crickets freshly fried and with just a bit of salt (and maybe a little spritz of lemon juice). To me they have a strong resemblance to crispy chicken skin, both in taste and texture. I love it! Eri silk moth pupae seem similar to cottage cheese in taste and texture, which I'm not too fond of. Roasting them with peppers and onions (after a good boil and cutting them in halves) is the most appealing way to prepare them, that I found so far.

Thanks for sharing yeah I can imagine that fresh is always better than things that have been dried for months sitting on a shelf covered in salts and preservatives.

Pins are just a reusable alternative to wooden skewers that can be used time and time again for feasting on these delicacies. You can tell how much I loved them by my face haha :D

Wow yeah those look interesting. I think bugs like anything else can be good if cooked with a lot of love and care. Most products I eat seem to be thrown together by companies who are trying too hard to mask the flavor or make it taste like traditional foods and it just doesn't work much.
