Smør is butter, and bukk is a buck. Mandelkjernepudding: lets break it up: Mandel is Almond, kjerne is core, and pudding is pudding. :) Fox in Norwegian is rev, and the candy is a classic, it has been around for more than 40 years. Melkesjokolade is Milk Chocolate Gudbrandalost is camellized goats cheese. Gudbrandal is a place in Norway. You chould actually not eat it without bread. It should be eaten on a hard bread with butter and the cheese on top. It is a traditional farmers cheese from the old days. I love this cheese, but there is a other one that is really bad if you ask me. Gamelost, it tastes almost like grandpas old sweaty wool socks after a month use. I tried it once never again. :) Tørrfisk is Dry fish, it is actually eaten like a dish on travel in the mountain for example when you are hungry. Kjempelumper, lets break it ut: Kjempe means big or great, and lumper i really do not know but I guess on lump or chunk. Jordbær is strawberry. Mandler is Almonds

Stop saying it's a lot like kitkat! It is kitkat that's a lot like kvikk lunsj!! In fact Kvikk Lunsj won a court case against kitkat about that not long ago.They stole our candy and now the world must live with a crappier version of kvikk lunsj :(((!
@cheezdoodle969 жыл бұрын
'Kvikk Lunsj' was launched onto the market in 1937, while 'Kit Kat' (the four fingered bar) was launched in 1935. So 'Kit Kat' is not a rip-off of 'Kvikk lunsj'. I wouldn't really call 'Kvikk Lunsj' a rip-off of 'Kit Kat' either, it's simply the Norwegian equivalent of a 'Kit Kat'.
@SyntaxErrorXoXo9 жыл бұрын
cheezdoodle96 You should do some proper research. Kitkat never filed for patents and their 4 bar choice has been overturned by EU law. Don't argue things you know nothing about.
@cheezdoodle969 жыл бұрын
SyntaxErrorXoXo You went on about how 'Kit Kat' looks like 'Kvikk Lunsj' and not the other way around, implying that 'Kit Kat' is a rip-off/copy of 'Kvikk Lunsj'. I stated that the four fingered bar variant of 'Kit Kat' was launched in 1935, two years prior to 'Kvikk Lunsj', meaning that 'Kit Kat' can't be a copy/rip-off of 'Kvikk Lunsj'. I didn't say 'Kit Kat' owned the design of the bar or anything. The point of my original comment was that there are going to be similar chocolates in different countries, and that I wouldn't call either chocolate a rip-off/copy.

Such a fun video! Especially when you tried to pronounce the Norwegian names and labels! Only thing I had to say though, the Brunost (Brown cheese) are not supposed to be served warm. It needs to be served cold, The cheese is made with goat milk btw, so you can also use it in different foods, like Finnbiff (a traditional Norwegian meal/stew with reindeer meat, mushroom, sour cream, milk, juniper, and potatos.) Keep up the good work man! With love from Norway!
@Isamyr10 жыл бұрын
Quick note: In Norway we have 3 letters in our alphabet that others do not have, they are simply sounds that every country uses in some way. So let me explain them in an easy way. BTW these letters come after Z. Æ æ: The sound you make when you scream. Ø ø: The sound you make when you are taking a break in a sentence, waiting for other words. Å å: The sound you make when you either are upset or when you finaly understand something. So there you have it! If you ever see something in norwegian try thinking in a bit of an english way, some examples below: Milk=melk, cake=kake, chocolate=sjokolade, quick=kvikk. Of course this is only for some words!

i love how you described the chocolate because Freia´s proverb is "et lite stykke norge" ( a little pice of Norway)

fun fact, here in Norway, about 70 years ago, they used to have cow on their roof, to acually trim the gras, since dirt with grass roof was a thing

brunost is just in norway
@skrivbok8 жыл бұрын
Nä, vi har det i Sverige också, men kallas mesost. Fjällbrynt är det största märket här på både mesost och messmör. :)

btw the walters mandler sith missing pieces are exactly the same amount of grams as the whole ones... a bit thicker i think. it is part of a competition that says if u find 1 with a missing piece u have a small chanse of winning the missing piece in gold!
@akabarastrauzz9 жыл бұрын
Barry Lewis The walter's mandler is actually the same volume! it says on the pack in norwegian! you think you're missing a piece but its still the same amount!

gudbransdalsost is a cheese from a place called gudbransdalen (dal = valley) and there are atleast 10 different versions of that cheese and is collectively called "brunost" (brown cheese) and the taste difference between them is quite different, they are all cheeses though, and will have that cheese texture. And yes, we do know our chocolates =P
@jeenpau10 жыл бұрын
Nonono you have to try the brown cheese on a piece of freshly baked bread with some butter. Please try it that way and you will maybe think different on it.

Just want to add this about those Walters Mandler chocolate.. Yes, one block was missing because of a competition, but because of that, they made all the other blocks a little bit thicker, so there would still be as much chocolate as normal ^^
@SjurVaage10 жыл бұрын
You should've tried the brown "cheese" with chocolate. Or melted (works well with a Swiss type of cheese, even if you don't care much for cheeses).
