How do you keep the pick from moving all over the place or getting stuck in the strings??

It helps to adjust the pick angle of attack. If you go straight on with the strings there is too much resistance. I angle the pick downward. Another technique which is great for helping with pick slippage is to glide on the top of the strings, search my channel for "dropping the pick?" and watch that vid

​​@@trentonkipps pick material and thickness also matter... Many find that for this kind of funk rhythm a thinner pick (between 0.5-1.0mm) works better and sounds better. I personally like playing on the big round shoulder of standard shaped picks (and holding it this way, to me, feels like you have more surface area to hold on to). Lots of picks are made with a textured grip embossed onto the pick's surface.

@@cironicholas526 yea I'm using a .77mm - I'll try the shoulder thing. It's just frustrating having it rotate and move around after every few strums. Rick's tip about the angle def helped tho...I'll keep practicing. Appreciate it!
