Played this game with only one fear that I would fall off the maps if I didn't jump right or didn't catch something in time. Watching this reminded me of the hours I put into this one game of many and I can't IMAGINE the amount of hours put into testing and planning every jump, flip, hit, and any other actions required. Over a decade later and this TAS is STILL the most optimal so far It'll be interesting to see what glitches and strats pop up to improve it even further though, and it'll be exciting when a faster TAS shows up for 120 stars EDIT: And I think I know how? Though I don't know the tech or anything, but notice how the 100 coin and red coin stars only SOMETIMES appear at the same time (Whomp's Fortress, as an example) since they spawn in close vicinity, yet it didn't happen in Hazy Maze Cave or Tiny Huge Island (despite also spawning in close vicinity). I can tell it can't happen on Tall Tall Mountain as an exception, but if there's a way to have the double star spawn take place on the aforementioned courses, time can definitely be saved!

-cool cool mountain has to have the red coin star collected before you can do snowmans lost his head. likewise, you need to do the icy slide before you can challenge the penguin -you have to clear the sunken ship before the jet stream or the eel star in jolly roger bay -you have to beat king whomp before you can reach the top of the fortress -likewise, you have to beat king bob-omb before racing koopa the quick. same deal in tiny-huge island but w/ a seperate star these next few i could be misremembering, but: -you have to do any other star & then select that star as the mission before you can open the monkey cage in tall tall mountain -the manta ray in dire dire docks wont show up until youve beaten the prior missions, including boarding bowsers sub the game intends other things, like standing on four pillars before fighting eyerok, or going on a ghost hunt before doing the second floor of big boos haunt, but they can be skipped with precise movement
