This soundtrack is sorely underrated. I play through this at least once a year. Just beat this back in April. My son wants a crack at it after he's done with Octopath 2.

I played Sword of Vermillion years ago when it first came out on the Sega Genesis and still have the game. I always liked the music on the game and enjoyed playing the game as well. Sometime this coming winter I plan on playing the game again.

One thing I always thought was funny about this game is that in most RPGs that let you name your character if you try to leave the name blank you'll either get a default name or won't be allowed to continue. Here though, if you do that you actually play the game without a name

You use it to find the Titania's mirror, Rafael's stick and Dragon shield based on clues from NPCs. There is also a "Mega Blast" hidden half way in the secret path to the man who sells you the Cartahena pass.

Apparently the Dark Sword, when you cleanse the curse, permanently reduces your strength. Doing it a few times caused an underflow which put his attack sky high once he used the bronze sword

Does that actually work... I completed this game as a kid taking ages and as an adult alot faster but had to grind had to get the best items. That woman who poisons you was a lesson learnt to know to ignore her, anyone else speak to her and died without saving?

@@azagdalkhu3536 You can find an herb in a cave to the east that cures her poison. In that cave, you can also find cursed armor which you can use the same trick as the cursed sword to make you almost invincible, where all enemies do just 1hp damage.

Yeah I remember that. But this is what I loved about these early RPGs they did not hold your hand and prepared you for the cold fact that "life is pain".

I think she actually just poisons you, and you need to look for a plant; you can find a cursed armor in that cave and basically become invincible

This game was incredibly awesome and daunting. Way too many "random" monster fights but it made it scary to play. The movement, having to left-right-back on the controller to navigate on the world map and dungeons is my only complaint. That was terrible.

The way the game is being played , not a person playing it, more of bot way to fast lmao, other stream played games was always showing the player playing the game, without seeing who is playing , its all automatic

It is. I tried to play it on my emulator and was bored to tears. The interface is terrible and the storyis slow as hell. Even watching the longplay is boring. Glad I didn't persevere. Much better RPGs on the Megadrive/Genesis.
