A short Japanese game about a small green toy who can summon stars to help him defeat monsters and to use them as platforms to reach high places and travel fast.
In this movie, the authors collect all of the items to enter the secret 7th level after the boss at the end of the 6th level, and do so 2 minutes and 15 seconds faster than the previous movie ( tasvideos.org/579M ).
The game cartridge of Gimmick! contains a special microchip, FME7, which extends the number of sound channels in the game from 5 to 8, creating a more melodic soundtrack than in most other NES games.
This movie has an Atlas Map encode ( • NES Atlas: Gimmick! (L... ) of Level 6, which shows the standard encode overlaid on a zoomed out map.

What’s so cool about Mr Gimmick is it’s a solid platformer which gives you this overpowered, almost gamebreaking star tool/weapon however the star is so difficult to master that it’s only overpowered in the hands of someone who’s already mastered the overall game anyway It’s like starting you out with a super weapon or invisibility cloak but you won’t ever figure out how to effectively wield it until beating the game over and over

This is the most impressive NES game I've ever seen. Incredible graphics and sound. Unique bosses for every stage. CONVEYER BELT SLOPES HOLDING MOVING PLATFORMS MOVING IN AND OUT OF WATER!! HOW?? THEY EVEN HAVE THE FONT FOR THE CREDITS BE ANTI-ALIASED, IN A NES GAME!!! WHAAAAAA

It was known as Mr. Gimmick only in Scandinavia, if there was a series on this it would be just Gimmick Even then, this game was made just to be really fuckin’ good, and it is Milking the game with sequels would break the entire point of the game being mostly a sunsoft passion project
