The firing port requires for suppression firing if the vehicle is not fitted with an RCWS. This does not significantly affect vehicle protection. The Tata IPMV is an Armored Personnel Carrier (APC), not an infantry fighting vehicle (IFV). Usually 8x8 vehicles are used as IFV but Indian Army uses it as APC. Indian army fighting doctrine is different from other countries. So Indian army has its own requirements.

@@shirinmimashangva1040 lolz good reply??? 🤣🤣🤣 those firing ports increase ballistic gaps between the armour. Have you ever studied ballistic science??? That's why no one in the whole world goes for firing ports in Hull, it a old soviet design Philosophy, do research before doing chest thumping.

Yes @ruff ruff they shouldn't have firing g ports in the rear, tactically also they are useless. They increase ballistic gaps, which weakens the armour.
