For those with ambiguities about ac slow and fast chargers that come with Nexon EV Max... You will be getting a 3.3kW AC slow charger (often referred to as the portable charger) with the vehicle by default. You would get 7.2kW AC fast charger also if you have chosen so. Get a 16Amp socket installed with an MCB and a switch beside the fast charger unit so that you can use them interchangeably. Make sure to move the slow charger back into the vehicle's boot to avoid being clueless in cases of low SOC in areas not having DC charging infra. Enjoy the EV experience.

I think one major issue that needs more attention is the lack of charging stations in rural areas. This is a significant barrier for many potential EV buyers who worry about charging access outside of cities. Transitioning from an ICE vehicle to an EV is a very big decision for any individual, and knowing they can charge their vehicle reliably, even in rural areas, is crucial. Expanding the charging network to these areas could really boost EV adoption across the country.

Excellent vehicle, brilliant manufacturing, and very informative short video, which was well overdue. But has been let down by shoddy pre-purchase experience. Can't believe that TaTa Motors tolerates such customer facing behaviour by their front-ends. Agreed, there is a waiting list, so customer is at the mercy of the free market but at some point the manufacturers may need to step in and take accountability.

One Q I had is - Hyundai Kona and Nexon EV Max both have 40Kw batteries. However real world range has a huge gap still. Is Nexon range expected to improve with software upgrades et? I am sure the relative aerodynamics of the cars will play a role, with Nexon suffering comparatively.

Does 7.2 kW AC Fast charger harms the battery life? @Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited
@sumitjadhav87452 жыл бұрын
It won’t. It’s still an AC one. Although it’s called AC fast, it’s still slower than actual DC Fast charging.
@maheshkumar-vw6is2 жыл бұрын
As long as charge rate is less than 0.5C it should not be an issue whether it is an AC charger or DC charger .FYI For 30 kwh battery anything below 15 kw charger (AC or DC)can be considered as slow charger
@tata.evofficial2 жыл бұрын
Hello Bharath, thank you for writing to us. We would like to inform you that 7.2kW Ac fast charger does not affect the battery life. It is equivalent to slow charging. Do get back to us in case of any further assistance, we'd be glad to help.

For best battery health, Should we charge the EV up to 100% every time or limit it to 80-90% ?
@iamindian79892 жыл бұрын
Yes we want this ans also is it recommended to discharge a battery fully
@ankurchauhan71272 жыл бұрын
@@iamindian7989 : I believe that EV batteries should never be discharged fully as in the video also it's mentioned that SOC shouldn't be below 10%.
@rd70022 жыл бұрын
Depends on the battery. Nexon uses LFP batteries, which are best charged to 100%. This is not for battery health but it's necessary for the inboard computer to be better read how much charge is left in the cell. It's an important thing as it helps to predict the range correctly.

There is NO Zero Carbon foot print as claimed in video, as long as we use only AC charger with constant 3.3kw, which needs GRID supply. In India, GRID power is mainly generated by burning coal. Tata EV should provide variable ampere slow charging stations in order to use solar power generated from Solar panels at home. Even though we install 4KW panels, power generation would vary based on sunlight and cloud cover (from 100watts to 4KW) Even if you don’t provide such chargers, you could support other advanced charging stations available such as openEVSE, which allows variable ampere. Excess solar power generated at home can be sent to EV. Does Tata Nexon EV onboard charger read control pilot signal from charging station to communicate maximum ampere that could drawn? (Which can vary maximum ampere from 6A to 15A based on PWM signal) Please don’t claim zero emission, until you provide or enable such solutions. Am looking forward that Tata would enable this feature.

Please make people more aware of EV adoption. People are tremendously miss directed by half baked knowledge about EV. Such a how battery causing more harm than ice, EV with premium pricing is actually a fashion statement and status quo not money wise efficient can't do long trips in 300km. After 8 years of warranty how will we be managing the humungous cost of a new battery... And many more. I know all of these and a PROUD NexEV owner, but most people don't and that reliability factory triggers in. I am saving almost 40,000 per month by avoiding fuel consumption. But people have misconceptions about the whole EV eco system. Please train them too.
