I work at Sephora and everyone at my store agrees that using the foundation with the primer makes it way too matte, especially for those who have drier skin. We love using it with Becca's First Light primer (the purple one) and have found that it wears beautifully with it. I would recommend trying the foundation again with a different primer. Also, the Match Stix work so much better if you apply to your hand first to warm them up and then apply. All in all, I agree with your review. I personally love the foundation, and am obsessed with the highlighters and lip gloss! I am excited to see what other products she launches within the next couple of months!

Michaela Glover yea but the girl at sephora told everyone not to hydrate your skin too much cuz it won't mix well,she was so wrong lol I hated the foundation first try it was so dry,next day I moisturized,strobed & made sure my skin was dewy as hell lol used her primer and foundation and my skin was flawless,I've never seen my skin tht perfect with the fenty

EXACTLY - everything is not for everyone. I feel these foundations were made for women not usually within the 'mainstream' i.e. slightly more oily ethnic skin.

I would definitely get color matched in sephora if you can! It can get really difficult to pick between shades because the undertone can be the only difference between colors! It doesn't oxidize so much as dry down darker

This is why we watch reviews..not every beauty line works for everyone. I want an honest review and I think she was honest. She loved some of the products. I personally love the primer, foundation blotting powder and lip gloss and trio stix in deep. I have oily skin and this line works great for me. I did not care for trophy wife at all it just did not work for my skin tone, but that does not make me a hater. I read some of the comments and I don't think some of you were being fair. Tati I thought the makeup looked great on you, but you're the wearing it and you know what works best for you and I appreciate your pros and cons about this makeup.

I work at Sephora and I have dry skin so I just wanted to drop some tips down here for those of you who still wanted to try out the foundation. Use the heaviest moisturizer you have and don't wait for it to soak in before using a primer (I wouldn't recommend the Fenty primer for dry skin) and then the foundation immediately after. Use painting motions or use a beauty blender, buffing can catch dry patches and also create streaks. I've also tried mixing in the Smashbox Primerizer into the foundation and it works pretty well. Hope that helps!

Fraener I'll give that a try. I bought the foundation yesterday at Sephora because I didn't realize I had dry skin. I usually get oily with all foundations and have to blot it during the day. With this in matte but my skin always looks dry in patches. I like the coverage and the staying power, just hate how my skin looks in some patches. I used a beauty blender to apply. I hate to return stuff to sephora...i know they will take it back but I always feel bad doing so.

For those that are surprised as to why Fenty Beauty is not sold out, it's because they backstocked everything for about 2 years. It was announced. Products being 'sold out' are a symbol for success but that depends on how much was in stock in the first place, plus it's irritating to want to try products out but have to wait so long before everything is restocked

Jamie Paige who has dry skin skipped the Fenty primer since its matte too and used her Keihl's face cream and the foundation looked great on her. So maybe with a Hydrating primer you'll like it more? I have super dry skin and I'm waiting for my deluxe sample so I'm kinda scared of it. Fingers crossed!

My best friend works at Sephora, and she was very irritated when I used the word "oxidize" about this foundation lol. She educated me in the fact that that's definitely not true. I think what happens is-- people swatch the foundation and do not rub it in, which if you rub it in and blend it out, it would show its TRUE final color. I too was scared that I wouldn't be able to find a true color but knowing what my best friend told me, she was able to truly match me and I love the foundation!!! For a limited time, Sephora actually has the "fenty face" going on, basically means you can ask for a complimentary look to be done with all the fenty products, once you find your shade, they use all the products corresponding with the shade you got that fit your tone and all based on a match cheat sheet card they have! This is definitely worth getting done if you want to see how everything applies ☺️ Also don't forget to ask for foundation samples before you commit!

What some people don't understand is that when people with deeper skin tones review this product, it's probably one of the best higher end products that are available in their shade range. So while Tati obviously has better options, a lot of other people don't. Yes, I'm happy that Tati gave her honest opinion on the product but so are a lot of other youtubers that just don't see this formulation of makeup often.

Rihanna made a very large range of foundation and will be extending it even more. All the shades have different skin tones to better match to your complexion. There are more fair shades because she also wanted to include people affected by albinism

Haley McDonald and she is definitely got a great range of colors bc there are people that have many ranges as well. It's wonderful to include all races and all conditions of the skin--truly beautiful people. My only complaint is that she is young and probably has normal to oily skin--as opposed to dry skin. I'm older now but even when I was a teenager, I was so dry--I didn't have acne/pimples! I don't have many wrinkles though. I'm religious about my skin care. So, maybe she plans to do that later.

My skin is EXTREMELY oily and this product is not that matte on me so I feel like if you have dry or normal skin you will feel like it's drying/too matte, it's definitely made for oily skinned people. I wish my foundation stayed as matte as yours on your skin lol i love it by my skin gets dewy again after about 5-6 hours.

For my oily skin, Fenty foundation works great!! It's medium coverage which I like because I'm not a fan of full coverage. Becca Aqua foundation is good too!! For low end I love Loreal Infalliable pro matte foundation!!

Why is everybody being so negative? She didn't say that KKW is better than Fenty, she just said that the package is similar, and you guys have to be honest that it does give the same kind of vibe. Also she is allowed to not like some products, just because you like Rihanna it doesn't mean all her products are perfect. Also, I'm pretty sure she doesn't use these products. Her make-up bag is probably full of Sisley, Guerlain or La Mer. Tati is allowed to have her own opinions, and personally I really appreciate them, because instead of kissing ass she is giving genuine reviews. Also, many people commented on the fact that she used her Clarisonic and that makes the review invalid, I'm sorry but it does not. In almost all of her recent foundation tests she used the Clarisonic, because she likes the Clarisonic and uses it on a daily basis, that's the way she does her make-up and this way she gives a fair chance to the foundation. The fact that she is using a beauty blender on the other side should be enough. I'm sorry for the long rant and if somebody found something offensive, it wasn't my intention, I'm just of people hating on Tati when there really isn't anything to hate on.

I hate that people are bashing the shade range too. Considering she is a MUSICAL ARTIST by trade, I think she did pretty good for her first stint into beauty. We ALL saw what KKW was like (whomp whomp); beauty is hard! Bare Minerals doesn't have this many shades in their newest Pro line and they are one of the more inclusive beauty lines. I've heard she is also expanding the line at some point; if that's true and there are more shade to come then OMG I CAN'T WAIT. Darker colors are harder to make so I would rather wait for her to get it right then see sloppy work. True most of the colors look super light in the bottle but I think there are more dark shades than people realize.

My skin is a little on the dry side and I love the foundation! I don't use it in conjunction with the primer because the primer is supposed to be mattifying as well. I use it with the Too Faced Hangover RX primer and it works like a charm! 😊 btw, you're beautiful Tati! Love your reviews ❤️

As an oily skin girl I'm very excited about this foundation. TBH I do feel this foundation is more for oily skin girls because of how this matte formula is. I heard Rihanna say her goal for this foundation was to make a foundation similar to the Giorgio Armani Luminous silk foundation (your skin but better look) but more wearable for oily skin people. I'm in shade 230 and I'm loving the foundation. It give my skin a FLAWLESS appearance and a my skin but better yet it holds up with my oils. Yay!

Yall...if you've watched other reviews you can see that the contours are difficult to blend out. I've seen it on small youtubers and big youtubers. Every video I've seen they took way longer to blend out than their normal products. As far as y'all feeling like she is "biased" like god forbid she like one product over another. I've also watched many videos for the kkw sticks and they do seem to blend out very easily. And she pointed out so many good things about the line for example that you get more product, that the product is more pigmented, that Rihanna did a great job with her color range (and she even bought colors she'd never use just to show that range, she didn't have to do that) and she said that the foundation looked better as the day went on. Y'all jump on her for every little thing. Guess what? She doesn't have to like every single thing just because most people do and she is allowed to like things that others don't. I don't get why people are so upset about this review.....She never even said that either Kim or Rihanna were copying each other, she just said that the packaging was similar. ALSO everyone's skin is unique, and just because some of the products didn't work as well for her, doesn't discount any of the reviews of those who loved the product. She already mentioned on Snapchat she's going to give the foundation another go with a more moisturizing primer to see if it works better. Makeup reviews are hard because everyone's skin in different. I just don't understand all of the hate. I have very oily skin, so when I watch someone like Casey Holmes, I know that if a foundation clings to her dry patches, and she doesn't like it because of that, that It probably wouldn't do the same thing for me since my skin is so different from hers. I got the fenty primer, foundation and some highlighters. The girl at Sephora did my whole face with the foundation yesterday. It lasted all day long and looked amazing all day! I did all my makeup before work at 6am and it's 4 pm here and it looks just like it did at 6! I am very happy with it all! Definitely going and getting the gloss soon!

LA girl has a plain white foundation to mix it with any other shades. They are very affordable (and accessible, even if you aren't from the U.S.) and it would might give you some use of your too dark foundations (I have a couple mismatch too, bc it's aint that easy to match shade online)

To be honest, this is one of the prettiest foundations I've ever seen Tati wear, and I've been watching her channel daily for years. I hope she gives it a second chance because her skin looked truly incredible in this video. Kinda sad we didn't get any ultra close up shots like she usually does, to see in detail how it wore on trouble spots. I tried the Fenty foundation today, too, and at first I kinda of disliked it, but then I caught a random glimpse in a mirror about 30 minutes after I applied it and it literally stopped me in my tracks it looked so good...my face looked flawless and it is FAR from it. I took the brand's advice and put on a ton of moisturizer and used a very moisturizing primer, then finished with a glowy setting spray (Too Cool For School's Perfect Day plus a spritz of Glamglow GlowSetter), so maybe that's why it looked so good on my normal-to-dry skin.

Tati has tried this before and for awhile she did this with a lot of her foundations. She may like this if she tried it. I have dry skin. I used the Dr. Jart water drop moisturizer and the Smashbox primer before the Fenty foundation and had great success. I was determined to make it work since I am so hard to color match but I had a match with this foundation. By God I was going to make it work 😆

I have dry skin as well and also moisturized beforehand and then used the Smashbox primer before the Fenty foundation and my skin was flawless all night. I was way too excited to finally find my shade. We just need a little extra help as dry skin girls, but this foundation can definitely work! :)

I wish you had tried out the foundation brush for the contour. It blends it out really well
