Honestly I stopped using labels bc I "could fit" into many and it felt overwhelming and also bc of personal stuff that happend to me back when I started exploring LGBT community. I also learned about differece between gender expression and gender identity. Right now I'm just..vibing and living my life 😅😄 and finally I'm slowly starting to love myself more.

I`m a bit confused. Why isn`t it possible to just let the stereotypes of being a woman and a men behind us? Why do you have to bei feminine and sweet, wearing dresses to be a woman? And on the other hand being a man shouldn`t mean wearing dark oversized stuff. Isnt it possible to just be a woman and not fullfill the stereotypes of it without label yorself as a non binary person?
@mariafot19083 жыл бұрын
That is exactly what I am thinking about
@Victoria-pm4lz3 жыл бұрын
THAT’S WHAT I THINK!! If you don’t fit what society call “woman” so what? If you feel like a woman, then what’s the matter? I feel like a lot of non binary people is just “I don’t wear dresses so I’m they”
@mariafot19083 жыл бұрын
I have come to understand that the non binary people feel they don't relate with any gender,relate with both or fluctuate in between. It's not because of the stereotypes.
@mariafot19083 жыл бұрын
I just relate to the struggle caused by society's influence in the way we women should represent ourselves
@deniserobalo87373 жыл бұрын
that’s so true, but then it’s like what even makes you a gender? wouldn’t everyone just be non-binary with their own personal traits if we got rid of gender stereotypes completely ...
@pureheartbadass3 жыл бұрын
the way you describe your gender really resonates with me. at the moment i've landed on the term 'genderqueer woman/womxn' to describe myself, i feel like that kind of fits, but i really like the idea of everything being in a state of constant flux. it's how we grow
@carlie49643 жыл бұрын
I'm bi and I recently changed my pronouns to she/they (I'm AFAB btw). The way you described your gender identity and your bisexuality resonated with me so damn much. I felt like I was wrong for changing my pronouns because I don't have a clear label yet and I still very much identify with being a woman and I don't want to be a man but using ONLY she/her just makes me feel uncomfortable and I've always loved tapping into my masculine side but recently I decided changing my pronouns makes me feel more comfortable with myself. All I did was change them in my Instagram bio and tell a couple close friends, I haven't told my family yet and idk if I ever will tell them (at least not my parents) cuz they just don't seem to understand anymore than just LGBT.
@ari37322 жыл бұрын
Wait- I think you just described exactly how I've been feeling lately about my gender. I'm AFAB that identifies as non-binary and goes by they/them, but I like 'she/her' pronouns, and I'm starting to like being called 'he/him', but I feel/want to be a female and I don't want to be a man but I don't feel "fully female" (if that makes sense💀) I've really loved going between being feminine and masculine but idk with this whole issue if genderfluid/nonbinary people can be a lesbian (since I'm a lesbian)

don't you think cis women should also be freed of society's expectation and standards for women? I am SO happy so many people finally feel comfortable to come out as nonbinary or gender fluid, but when the reason is that they don't want to be perceived through society's lense of what a woman should be it confuses me because i don't think cis women should have to be also
@norao48563 жыл бұрын
I am so so sorry if this comes off as problematic! I'm just wondering since I see so many nonbinary folks say they don't want to have to uphold society's expectations for women
@everuby14383 жыл бұрын
From my understanding, nonbinary and genderfluid people aren't necessarily JUST against the societal standards for women - it's more than that. For example, I'm a lesbian feminist who wants to challenge the traditional roles that women are expected to fulfill in society, but I'm still a cisgender woman. It's more about how each individual feels most comfortable in their gender identity, which for some people is embracing themselves as nonbinary, so they exist outside of the gender binary altogether 🌈
@norao48563 жыл бұрын
@@everuby1438 Good point. Thanks!
@ColdplayDirection3 жыл бұрын
I get what you mean. I think it's weird and wrong to say that cis women do want to be perceived through society's lens of womanhood because I don't think any woman really likes society's expectations of them. a lot of those expectations are really sexist. in my experience as a cis woman and from talking to other cis women, most of us don't like those expectations, even though we're still cis women. it makes sense to me that people might want to escape those expectations by calling themselves nonbinary. that's the way I see it
