The 'slow' vibes is what I miss so much about Berlin. Like, there's so much going on, but there's no RUSH.

I've visited Berlin as a solo traveller about 8 times now over the past 6 years and still haven't seen all the main tourist attractions or museums (I'm hoping to get to Charlottenburg Palace next time). Glad you discovered the free walkway on the roof of Futurium which gives great views over many parts of the city, and it is a very unusual and thought-provoking museum (and it's free admission too). I'm heading back for the Festival of Lights in October, all going well, and I've got a tour of teh Reichstag Building booked. For the first time I have booked an aparthotel so could end up cooking my own meals to save a bit of money; I already know where the nearest supermarkets are !

i'm going for the first time in 5 days what are your recommendations of must see?
@cmartin_ok21 күн бұрын
@@thiagogregory1 If you haven't yet booked a tour of the Reichstag or visit to the Dome, try to see if there are any places left. Obviously visit the Brandenburg Gate and the East Side Gallery; Alexanderplatz, the TV Tower and the World Time Clock are iconic and shouldn't be missed, similarly the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial church - be sure to go inside and also to the new church built alongside. Because it is so big, Berlin is one place where a city bus tour is almost certainly worthwhile as it will help you decide which areas to focus on seeing. Some also recommend visiting the KaDeWe department store, if that's your "thing". Checkpoint Charlie is a bit of a disappointment - mainly a tourist trap but at least you could say that you've been there. If you are into museums, visit Museums Island for some art treasures, and the Natural History Museum which is a little distance away from them. Public transport is good and cheap, but make sure you get the right ticket and validate in in the special machines. Look into getting the "Welcome card" for travel and discounts at tourits sites. Have fun and enjoy !

I really enjoyed this!!! There's just something about how you make videos and document your days/trips 😍 A 1hr walk though?! It sounds like so much to me! But actually, I don't think I would mind it in a city like this 🥰 There's something so liberating and peaceful about solo travel. It just feels very empowering to me and I look forward to solo trips. Even when I'm with someone else, I try and work a day or at least one solo date into the activities. I love them that much 😅

Berlin is huge, it covers an area about 9 times the size of Paris and there are many parks and green areas. It's a great city if you like walking
