And that's preciselly my point, that's the reason why the Tercios are still famous today. They fought everybody in Europe for +150 years almost without loses. Crazy

The difficult thing pushing to castle age isn't just getting the resources and clicking. the difficult part is you have to have enough resources to click up, and spent enough resources to last 160 seconds of economic stand still for it to even matter.

Why do people never rush defensive towers in this game, it's always forward base/tower rush that I see winning. Like people that lose woodlines to a tower, just tower your lumber camp...

Because if you place a defensive tower behind the woodline first then your opponent can place one outside of its range but still ranging some section of the woodline. If it's in front of the woodline they can rush it down with men-at-arms. Or they can just place it ranging your mill instead and you have no stone for a counter tower

If it was that easy pros would always rush towers, they dont. So there is obviously something else to it.

What Max Laidlaw said, and on top, Towers use the most finite resource in the game, Stone. I'd rather move my lumber camp than build a tower in most scenarios.

Having to spend resource gathering time on stone to get to 200 for TCs later when you don't know you need towers is a big potential waste.

Because your opponent may not attack until the castle age. Because your opponent can always build a tower somewhere else (on your gold, or your second wood line or mill or w/e)
