I'd say it's debatable, the map was definitely unbalanced, but MBL ran out of gold because he consumed it really fast, since he went heavy on gold. If he had some more gold piles, probably the game would have just been longer, with the same outcome

I'm not so sure, because Viper got less gold than MBL at the end. I think Viper's strategy was like this, I mean, a bit late imp, holding, than pushing. It was all calculated, bro.

Nah it was a combo of civ win and Vipers skill. Mayans might get plumes but they have no cost efficient answers to strong melee infantry mixed with elite skirms. The thing is Mayans can usually dominate most civs hard enough that they can't get to the point of being able to pull somthing like that out. But Vipers good enough, (and vikings eco bonuses help just enough), to drag it out to the win.

Not only many people would likely not mind the frequency of Viper apperances in the channel but also as a caster your options are obviously limited than that of a player. You mostly depend on the action that takes place within the top-player base. Whoever provides more quality content at a given time, naturally takes more space in your work as well. You are by this point well established as a top level caster and a scout for great matches both in the past and in the present. I honestly do not mind certain players repeatedly coming up here. As long as games are up there, I am not keeping a count of the names.

Don't forget that melee infantry usually has an attack bonus against eagles. Berseks +2, Elite Berserks +3 while Champions even get +8.

Heavy scorpion is the best unit. Cheap spamable does damage to multiple units per shot even to close units inside minimum range. Just need like 50 in stand ground to mop up a position and protect a ram taking down buildings

I don't know if Viper _wanted_ MbL to make the forward castle, but I think Viper definitely did not want to make a DauT castle... I think Viper was planning to take it to the late game and he wanted a safe castle to make the zerks.

43:10 i think the problem were the eagle warriors. they cost way too much gold just to counter skirmishers that are just trash units. and at the end, mbl lost due to the lack of gold. dunno if it could've helped mbl, but maybe buying swordsmen could be the counter these berserks while skirms wouldn't do that much damage to the infantry. other than maybe oangers (which cost a lot of gold either) that i don't see any other options either. poor mbl getting stomped by map generation xD.

Saying it was %100 map win takes too much credit from Viper. Definitely it was in favor to him but at the end of the game MbL had collected more gold than Viper. So it comes down to case that how to use what you have. Before adding scorpions and onagers they were going back and forth, Viper's siege back up made the difference. Army composition wise he had better one and made the right decisions. That's reason he should get credit for. Using 5 different units at the same time is no joke. Anyways it was great game salute to both players and to t90 for making it even better with his casting !!

I want to point out that this game is a great example of score being misleading. Viper had map control for the game’s second half, and controlled most of the gold. He also was holding (most of the time) and prevented most raids. Yet for a good amount of time MbL had the score lead, and if you look at the K/D ratio you could see why - he took better fights, but they were mostly defensive fights, and Viper slowly pushed in. Sick game from both players.

I feel lıke if MBL added some skirms of his own, it would really help his composition, at least until the scorps came out. skirms & halbs used to be the bread and butter unit composition "back in my day". I'm surprised that meta has changed so much that people go for such gold-reliant armies nowadays.
