Tattoo advice : What really happens at a tattoo convention ?

Just got a tattoo at a convention, got 2 full days for 2000$, my artist normally charges 300/hour so got a pretty sweet deal. Another pro is if your artist is competing they are going to try to show off there best work and will probably make your tattoo look dope. There are definitely cons though! if an artist is charging there normal price that is complete bullshit! You should be getting a deal!

I’m planning to attend the tattoo convention this weekend in San Diego and im wondering how do people dress to the tattoo convention? Do people dress in a way that would show off their tattoos?

Love the videos! I emailed an artist about getting a tattoo at a convention this past October and his full day rate was $2500 his full day rate in his shop was $1500. Love his work but $2500 for one day just isnt for me lol.

Thanks I appreciate that. Yea that's pretty a hefty day rate. He's probably trying to get all of his money back from the plane, hotel, and booth fees in one shot.

So tattoo conventions really don't have seminars or lectures? I am asking because my sister is a hairstyles and when she goes to a convention, many times there are classes she can choose to take part in..ie color, product demos, etc.
