Yes, kids love tattoos. I have 5 smallish ones, all meaningful. My 2yo granddaughter looooves my butterfly one and i saw her using a marker scribbling on her ankle. When I asked her what she was doing she said 'barfly like Nanny'. So, up to the discount shop we went and I found some rub on tattoos for kids. Ended up doing half her little leg and she was so proud. Mum came to pick her up, gave me an eye roll and a giggle and next morning asked me to get her some more because Missy was upset about the bath washing her tatts off. 😁

2:15 Anand that's why I almost always get tattooed by women or non-binary artists. Say "not all men", say I'm generalizing, but I really don't care. I've had a few positive experiences with male artists in the past, but I've never felt the same level of comfort or connection as with my fav female and nb artists.

Same experience here. Two out of my three artists were women. The guy was heavy-handed and, personality-wise, quite brusque. When I was getting my tattoos done by my second female artist, there were a lot of male artists in the shop. They were all nice, but only one of them made me feel like could actually sit with him and not feel objectified or talked-down to over time, and I know I still wouldn't feel as comfortable with him as I did with my current artist.

I feel like the uk is all over the place for measurements lol, it's highly contextual whether i use imperial or metric haha also I love the shirt
@mxclaireharris9 ай бұрын
It actually makes sense. There's legacy measurements, things that would be too complicated to change. Then you have to ask yourself how exact something needs to be. Using the hairdresser example from the video, if someone asked for 50mm taken off their hair you'd think it was time to get a tape measure out, but 2in you'd do it by eye.
@lucyjane38039 ай бұрын
The UK is a total mess with its half-assed use of metric lol I grew up in Australia so idk what the heck a mile is 🤣 But its still weird to me that people kicked off at her using inches when if you interact with people from the US you would know they still 100% use imperial, they don't know a single thing in metric. Its not like inches is never used as a standard by anyone anywhere.

I know this may be a bit weird but last time I went through the loss of someone close to me this was the caption I put under a piece of my nature photography related to death. But the caption was about the loss of someone dear to me so I’m going to paste it here in hopes it can help ease your mind in the same way it eased mine. “Unfortunately, life can be cruel. With death, comes change and with change comes sorrow. In a moment, immense beauty is taken from the world, but not all of it. Every souls color is unique and its own, while the world can take the brush, it can't take the strokes of color left in its wake. The color we carry from those we've lost becomes ours to spread, far and wide, as a gift to the world” You will find equal beauty in the future just as you will find people who hold a similar importance as he does to you, and that’s okay, beauty and love in your future will never negate the beauty and love of your past. It’s important to remind yourself of that because it’s easy to feel as if moving on with life is a betrayal, when it’s not. Moving on is not synonymous with forgetting, and never should be seen as such. Wishing you the best, internet stranger ❤

Who would've thought that the guy with the wonky hairline tattoo would turn out to be problematic 🤔
@thatgaiagirl67889 ай бұрын
On the inches thing, I’m Aussie and the only thing we consistently really use inches for is height (and even then most official places that ask for your height will use centimetres, most people only use feet/inches in casual conversation). Whenever I have a tattoo or haircut, it’s standard to use centimetres and not inches. It’s interesting to hear the apparent mixing & matching going on in the UK lol
@nicolorange9 ай бұрын
As a Hairdresser in Australia I definitely understand where you're coming from. Scissors and clipper combs usually come in inch measurements and we use cm here, so its second nature for me to be able to convert either way. I'd love to tattoo my hands/fingers in a creative design that has measurements on it, without it just being a ruler haha

Bestie the 'apology' at the start is hilarious 😂 I'm sure the comments were all in good fun! I'll have a shot at a, for the fun of it, critique: only three countries in the world still primarily use the imperial system - most have fully or mostly swapped to metric 😉(This information is something I got on a quick google search, correct me if it's wrong! But you get the general point I'm trying to make 😄) Also, subs are 15 cm or 30 cm with the metric system - which imo is very easy to picture, as those are the most common ruler sizes (at least, in my experience!)😄 Love your videos, and how thoughtful you are about making them a safe, open and inviting space! There is a local guy here who is a retired tattoo veteran, who is unfortunately known for being cheap AND doing his work quite badly due to being under the influence (drugs/alcohol). I've had former students tell me they went to him and regret them because of either scarring ,blowout or shoddy linework. I use him as an example of how wrong it can go when you go cheap and now my students come to me and ask of my approval of the tattoo place and the tattoo they're getting! 😆 I feel very honored to be "that tattooed teacher" who apparently knows everything about tattoos. 😆😆

For the first client, I agree. I wouldn’t have gone either. I am like you, I need confirmation of appointments. Maybe the artist could set up something on their computer scheduling where once you enter a client in a time slot, the client is automatically emailed a confirmation. That would remedy the issue and also not make extra work for the artist. If the artist can’t or won’t see your vision, find out a concrete reason why it won’t work and agree on a compromise that will, or find someone else who will do what you ask for.

I do occasional work in customer service and I have a lot of ear piercings, my nose pierced, tattoos and pink hair. I always remember these two adorable young girls who came to me with their nan as I was serving them and they were pointing at me and whispering. They then started talking to me about my hair, tattoos and piercings, saying how much they loved them and how they wanted to be like me when they were older and pointing at the piercings they wanted to get! I half expected their nan to be mad at me for being a "bad influence for children" but she actually started joining and and complimenting them too. I actually got so many more comments from the elderly generation about my style and expression in being who I wanted to be and relating me to their children and grandchildren. I'm glad that self expression in tattoos and piercings are becoming more accepted in today's society rather than having the comments about "regretting" life choices. I know there's still a lot of criticism and verbal ab*se going around regarding tattoos, but I just found it interesting how the people associated with negative reactions actually gave me some of the nicest compliments.

So many anime’s like that too where those big ole boobies are out and all the dudes are there 😳😳😳 I feel like some things are taken a bit too far nowadays. I thought it was silly. Like not another teen movie, mean girls, scooby doo monsters unleashed when Velma puts on that friggen leather suit. 🥵 Anyway, I wouldn’t think too heavy into thinking he’s a creep.. that’s a bold statement to someone who just made a tick tock and that’s all you know of them.

I was so confused by that creep opener because I missed the first 2 seconds...ew. imagine just outing yourself like that.i guess that is one way of removing women clients from your books. Probably not the best way to do it, but it is _A_ way. 3:32 The woman, who ended up with a beach day after her artist was so uncommunicative, did start her whole story off by saying that her mum paid for permission from an artist she likes on instagram to use their design in a tattoo. It probably didn't twig though because the rest of the story was unrelated to that until it came back to that at the end where he said about not wanting to use the artist's work exactly. I am surprised she even rebooked the appointment after the first booking was missed due to his terrible communication, but she seems like a super confident person and obviously knew she would be ok walking away if she got bad vibes or whatever (we're not all built like that lol). I'm so glad she did say no. You're right, that whole situation would have stuck with her any time she looked at the tattoo that she hadn't really wanted. I'd also be worried that if there was an issue with it, I would never be able to get in touch with him again. I hope she finds an artist who can do it for her & as she wants it.

Its basically because we interact with Americans/American products so much that we are forced to still know imperial 😅 But the UK is still not fully metric, very few people here don't also know feet and inches. I feel like its basic general knowledge that an inch is 2.5cm, idk who was angry at her about it lol

Sorry but no, maybe in english speaking countries but I‘m from Germany and nobody here uses Inches, neither in france nor italy etc

Maybe in some english speaking countries, or places like the UK. But in most countries in europe I can think of, inches are not used. Inches are also not used in east asia either. Maybe in other places but centimeters definitely seems more common of a world wide measurement

@@AliceBunny05 I think when I wrote that I was referring to English speaking countries like UK and Australia. I know centimeters are used much more around the world.

About the inches. In portugal we dont use inches we only use the metric system. But when asking the hairdresser for a cut we say that we wont 3 “fingers” (dedos in portuguese) off. Like the width of a finger as a unit of measurement

I'm a librarian with tattoos and it's super common these days. The older generation of grumpy, conservative librarians are retiring thank goodness!

I will never get how creepy dudes can be so confident about sharing their creepy views as if it's the most normal thing in the world? Like why would you share that you are objectifying your clients?

Just found you and binge watching. I love love love tattoos. I'll be 44 in a couple weeks and I'm just now getting my sleeve finished. I have a bunch all over my body but now I can actually afford working by large bits to finish my right arm sleeve/hand and get onto my left arm/hand. My daughter will be 18 this year and she's trying to figure out what she wants for her first one (aside from the little ones she did herself... sigh) and we'll get a matching one behind our ears. Anyway just commenting for engagement and the algorithm.
