I got a tattoo of a skeleton skateboarding after my brother died. He was a skater, and to me it kind of symbolizes that even though he’s gone he’s still doing the thing he loved wherever he is now. Anyway, I’ve gotten several rude comments about “why would you get that tattooed” and i secretly think it’s hilarious, because after I say “oh i got it for my dead brother” they shut up SO fast. Like, yeah I hope you randomly stay awake at 3am thinking about how embarrassing this moment was for you.

As someone who has tattooed knees, mostly just plain script, sometimes a session can go long just because the person isn't sitting well. I had a girl hunch over and try to look at me while I was tattooing her knee and kept constantly having to tell her to sit back, or stop because her boob was touching the top of my machine / baseball cap, and her long hair was draping over me. I've had men shake, scream and yell and make a 2 hour tattoo into 5+ hours. People really don't understand how much they move and wiggle when they are texting or on their phones and it can be really infuriating haha. Also as a disabled person myself, I've had to take breaks while tattooing difficult spots because of how *I* need to bend move around the client. Sometimes a 'simple' tattoo can turn into hours of work over the dumbest things. This girl got a solid knee tattoo, it looks clean and will heal great. No need to complain about solid work, because good work takes time and if it means waiting out someone crying or walking around the studio so your back doesn't give out, so be it! Also knee skin kinda sucks to tattoo because its so strange, so if it was the first time someone did a knee, I'd give them a pass. A lot placement things kinda come with experience and knee tattoos are pretty rare even in a street shop.

I turned 30 in January and I'd been the "I'm waiting until I find that perfect tattoo! It has to have meaning!!" girl for so long already (I've been pierced multiple times and got my tongue split for my 18th birthday), and April this year I came across an Instagram ad of an artist's work... DMed him practically right away, and a month later we started my very first tattoo. Which is a 3/4 traditional Japanese sleeve. Aside from the symbolism that belongs in a Japanese tattoo (it's a koi swimming up + cherry blossom flowers) there is no deeper meaning aside from that I think it looks beautiful, and honestly I'm so happy I just did it. Getting that sleeve hopefully finished in September and in the meantime got a cute little back tattoo from a different artist done as well :D Never happier that I just went for it without the endless overthinking.

@@sylverscale yeah, right now I'm 11 hours and 1600 euros in, with 2 more days planned in September 😂 for now the plan is to finish this sleeve and then do a matching one on my other arm, a full suit is so terribly beautiful but too big of a commitment. She got a black work/line work tattoo way back when, it healed, then aged pretty normally, and years later it started to get raised and falling apart. Her body had started to react negatively. My theory: since the ink is kept in the skin by those large white blood cells, some trauma to the spot might have "shaken" some of those cells loose or popped them open, and that started a new "round of healing so to speak, and a renewed immune reaction maybe? (I mean those large cells that eat toxic stuff then die where they are?)

I got tattooed at a Festival once. The artist only tattooed crew and artists, but in the main festival area. We were sitting in a little booth, so i was not concerned about people coming too close or something, it felt quite secure and hygienic. The designs were different versions of the festivals logo in different sizes. It was very hot and sunny that weekend. I got tattooed in the evening and got second skin put on, but the next morning it came off😅 after that i just put a big plaster over the tattoo, to protect it from sun and dirt, but it definitely struggled during healing, as i could not really wash or moisturize it for the first 3 days.. also the artist was not very experienced. I love it for the experience and i love to have this festival with me forever, but it is definitely one of my worse tattoos 😅 And as a guest i would never ever get tattooed at a festival. When i'm crew i don't really drink, i can kinda stay in the shade etc.. But as a guest who's trying to enjoy the festival, i really would not want to worry about a fresh tattoo!

They're ideas I've had for years, not denied in a whim. My daughter turns 18 in December and we've known we're gonna get matching tattoos but it's been a couple years of trying to decide what. I'm always an advocate of think it through for a while (at least a few months) before getting a tattoo idea. Find some ideas online, think of where and how big you want it, and research who you want to go to. Keeping this in mind, I think it'll be less likely to not regret any. I'm 44 and been getting tattoos since I was 18 and don't regret a single 1. One got a little fvcked up when I got pregnant (it's on my pelvis) but no one but my husband and I see it anyway, lol.

The 10K in a year on tattoos one is even worse. She was on Caleb Hammer's financial audit, which means she most likely is in massive debt and has been for a while. Usually those people don't have a full grasp on consequences or where they went wrong. You can kinda see that in the lady in that short TikTok as well (I watched some full episodes of that show when I didn't mind the vibes, this might've been one of m). She acts so flippant about it.

JUST got done with my ninth tattoo as you posted this video!! Found a great guy who does mostly black and gray in Tennessee (we took a trip with friends to Nashville) and even though my taste is super simple basic black tattoos (with a tiny touch of gold on one tattoo and a touch of red on another one, otherwise just black, mostly line work like outlines and handwriting and a little bit of lettering) he exceeded my expectations. There were six of us, I had my chicken scratch of a drawing I had airdropped him and was ready to go as soon as I picked with stencil sizing I liked best. I found myself looking around at all the etiquette you talk about too!! Artists didn’t eat at stations, they were gloved up, they had machines wrapped, new clean prep set up after each of us, price was lower than I expected so he got a 37% tip from me. He told me the price ahead of time which is how it should be done.

The one with the girl who is talking about a person who wants to tattoo, I think it’s making fun of the fact they always say they want a tattoo but never get one 😂

I've been watching like every single video you've posted while on maternity leave. I'm not that cosy, I'm washing bottles but I am having a good time lol!

I think the whole issue with getting a tattoo outside is the aspect of dirt and sun. Anyone who cares about their tattoos know to avoid those two things so hearing "outside tattoo" awakens a motherly instinct to protect your ink. However I'm sure it'll be fine, sailors used to get tattooed then go right back on the ship working and turned out fine

my first tattoo says “happier days are definitely ahead for you” on my forearm. i get a lot of comments that it sounds like something from a fortune cookie. which it is! it was a fortune that i got years ago and kept in my wallet because i just thought it was sweet. i decided to get it tattooed when i lost a friend to suicide and i wanted to commemorate him with a positive reminder to always keep moving forward

My grandpa was tattooed in 1944 with an ancor and the year he was born as he was going to go in the navy in WWII. Years later he tried to "remove it" himself with a knife so it was messed up at the top.

My poppy is the only grandparent with a tattoo. It took me years to realise it was a pair of aces. His name is Alan so I was working under the assumption that the A was for his name, or that he had gone to AA. This was cause the tattoo was faded and the cards were square. He did them in his 20s, drunk, in his friend's basement. I got my aunt to sneak a pic of it so I could see what aces they were meant to be (diamond and heart) too it to my artist and told him to tattoo me in the same location (front forearm) like I was the one doing it and I was drunk. My artist said I'm a Better artist than my poppy so it's obvious that they are aces. The heart is a little wanky and so is one of the As. I sent a pic to my poppy after and he called me saying 'that's my tattoo. Do you know that's my tattoo?' He was so friggen happy and gets me to show people our matching tattoos when we're together. I'm getting 2 tattoos in a couple of weeks that are a bit bigger than the $1000 tattoo. Both are also custom designed. It's gonna cost me $600 AUD at most.

I have had people grab me to look more closely at my tattoos in the past, but lately I've really upped my SPF game and I'm pretty sure I'd slip out of their grip like a greased pig if they tried.
