👋Hi wildlife Explorer and soon to be Ranger here! to the question about cage diving with sharks... It stressen the sharks more with cages and some sharks get hurt , also the animal will most likely be fed, to ensure that you (the tourist) will 100% see them which is bad for every wild animals. NEVER participate in feeding wild animals, they'll learn to be fed and forget their instincts and ability to hunt, and they dont always get proper natural food ( I saw captains throwing paella in the water to attract fish and turtles 😢). The feeding makes sharks more aggressive than they usually would be, too! You can learn about the proper way in handling sharks in every good diving school 😊
@treacletatts9 күн бұрын
Oh wow!! That all makes perfect sense. Thank you so much for informing it’s super helpful!! 🩷
@mint-pumpkins8 күн бұрын
@@treacletatts It also causes sharks over time to associate humans with food, which increases attack rates and (as you said) aggression, overall bad for sharks and bad for humans unfortunately :/
@sabrinakroesen67915 күн бұрын
There are A LOT of places that have banned/are banning chumming for tourists (most will still allow for true research). There are still a lot of ways to swim with sharks that are both human and animal friendly, but they do cost a fair bit of cash and you need many years of diving experience. To be honest, I’m doubtful that sharks would ever lose their ability to hunt for themselves… are they smart enough to know when/where free food will be - HECK YES!! But actually losing that ability… enh, not convinced. It is good “blanket” advice though - wild animals need to keep their wild instincts and many will either lose their natural instincts or become so used to “human” food that they can actually become a danger to humans and they are the ones that suffer the consequences (not the humans that habitualized them).

100% agree on tattoos hurting more longer. Anybody no matter their tolerance can sit for a small tattoo that takes under an hour. Honestly you can pretty much swim with most sharks, I've done it in New Zealand (was advertised as swimming with wild dolphins but all we ran into was sharks that day, fine with me). They're curious so they'll come up to you and boop you with their little snoots but they're no danger to humans. There's a couple of species that I wouldn't advise actively seeking out (Tiger shark, Bull shark, Great Whites, maybe Oceanic Whitetips...) but most of them are fine. With those species, cage diving is the better option. It's generally fine as long as it's done in a way that doesn't actively bothers the animals, lets them come to you rather than approaching them etc. Just research the organization beforehand and make sure they're not fed but it's done somewhere they naturally congregate (feeding wildlife is always a no). It is a great experience for sure.
@ursacat26108 күн бұрын
Cage diving with sharks is such an awesome experience and where I went it was perfectly ethical! Fisherman had built bonds with the sharks over years and years so they know the sounds of the boats engine meaning there was no bait involved. We went diving with Galapagos sharks and they were absolutely STUNNING!! Highly recommend it!
@TheHeczi8 күн бұрын
No, it isn’t. Sharks get their heads stuck between bars that are too wide, can’t free themselves because they can’t swim backward, and then die because they injure their gills and surrounding blood vessels.
@ursacat26108 күн бұрын
@TheHeczi Thank you for replying cuz that's a fantastic point and I would really hate to see sharks hurt. I didn't think of that and I'm sure it sadly happens. We were lucky enough that the sharks we were diving with had 0 interest in the cage and never came close enough to touch the cage (it was a surface floating cage). The bars didn't seem wide enough for the sharks (12-18 foot sharks) to get through luckily but you never know what might happen. I'm sure a lot of cage diving companies sadly don't take the time and consideration to make it as safe for the sharks as it should be.
@TheHeczi8 күн бұрын
@@ursacat2610 I wouldn’t have thought how dangerous this is for the animals too until I saw videos about it by Robert Marc Lehmann (a German marine biologist and conservationist who often dives with sharks).

14:49 I mean it’s better than aquariums but because sharks can only go forward if they ever get caught in the bars it can’t get out by itself. Also it can be dangerous for the divers too if a shark gets stuck, they bite out of reflex and the commotion might be able to sever the cable and then you have to figure out how to get out as well as dodge the shark. Being free in the water is safer for you and the sharks (start with smaller sharks in shallower waters) but there’s always a risk (also I’ve never been diving, I’m way too scared I just watch a lot of KZbin)

Hi Lauren! As someone who's also got some weird medical issues; You should be able to get a numbing spray with a longer nozzle. I have a xylocain spray for my mouth due to ulcers and the nozzle is at least 2 inches long, a very very slim tube. It's the same they use to numb your throat for gastroscopy (have unfortunately done that twice) so it can really get to the back of your throat (and hopefully it will even trickle down to the parts you won't be able to reach). Hope you'll be able to get something like that! I'm in Sweden and here I needed a specific prescription, but hopefully you can find out exactly what's available in the UK (ask a pharmacist, they often know better than the doctor ime. Then if you need a prescription, you'll know what to ask for at the doc's.)

I’m getting my first sentimental tattoo soon and it makes me so nervous bc it’s the first one I am gonna be super particular about in the studio, wish me luck tattoo people 😂

I have several sentimental tattoos, as long as you trust your artist and you know what you want, you'll be fine. Ensure you check the stencil multiple times from multiple angles and say then if you are not happy. I really hope it goes well

@ thank you for your kind words, very reassuring! I’m an overthinker lmao

@AnnaRenee oh me too. With everything, especially tattoos! Takes me years to plan each one but finding an artist I trust has helped. I'm sure it will be OK, just make sure you are 100% happy before they start. I got paw prints recently and we spent over an hour making sure everything fit and looked good

It’s sooo hard to find new creativity to think of a tattoo that is unique and has never been done before. All my tattoos have a unique twist or a different style to them

So funny i justpaused your video and watched Saggy Sara's post that she blacked out most of her snake tattoo. Then resumed your video and the next tiktok was hers! Love her content almost as much as yours ❤

Loved this episode- had me giggling so much. On the root dying topic... I am naturally dark brown haired and have a bleached, mad colours buzz cut. You can see my roots after 3 days! Get a smart arse every so often who feels the need to point them out 😩 so over it.

I'm heavily tattooed, but I am team no face tattoos. However, you do you. Also, I've been asked if my tattoos are real before, and it's super strange. The guy said it just seemed fake because I didn't seem like the type because I was wearing business atire. So I guess if you work in an office or a professional setting, you don't look like you should be heavily tattooed. 🤔

One thing I don’t understand is when KZbinrs say what a terrible place social media is, but it’s like what they do for a living by choice.
