I've been using the shader as well as the packer with the critical battery's for about a year and I fully agree. I also do a lot of black and grey but as a shop artist I have to do a bit of everything and these machines do it all. But I also have an Axys Valhalla that I keep as a backup and I really love that machine too. Curious if you've ever tried one?

Man idk, I’ve been tattooing with the exo for a bit now, running the powerbolt on 7 and I can tattoo 9+ hours with it no problem. Maybe you got a bad batch of batteries or something. 🤷‍♂️

So I can’t say exactly the problem with the exo but it’s supposed to excellent battery life, but with an 8 watt motor you don’t need high speeds to effectively tattoo, people work at between 6-7 watts, if you’re running above that you’re going to damage skin and run the battery out much faster. Problem I’m assuming is your hand speed which you’ve mentioned is fast before. It’s hard to tattoo completely differently if you’re used to a certain stitch speed. I’m just guessing the cause of the short battery life and skin damage. Just be aware that generally the battery life is considered exceptional and running it high and hard would likely negate that.

Re: battery life. I bought the spektra and updated the battery via the app, and was getting crap results as you say. Its a dodgy update that's screws the battery up that I'm unsure if they've yet to rectify. I bought another battery and didn't update it and have since been able to run it all day. Anyone else aware of the same issue?

Can I just say. Bishop shader has a small 2607 motor that consumes small amounts of power. The motor in the EXO is whopping 9w. Of corse it’s going to drain quicker. The power of the EXO reminds me of how coils used to be. I never have to touch up my tattoos after I use the EXO

The 3.2 is more of a color packing machine rather than the shader. I personally have the 2.5 and it’s amazing for greyscale I absolutely love it and I’ve never run out of battery power with mine, the most I’ve used it is 5hours though, and I’ve been tattooing for 2 and a half years so I’m not as experienced as you. I shade around 7.5 - 8 and I haven’t noticed any bruising in the healing process. I would love to try the bishop though I’ve heard nothing but amazing ness from them, so hopefully I get one in the future. Great review as always 🤩

@@thomaspayet6341hi sure, when I work with the 2.5 on greyscale shading I find it like a pencil. It’s great for layering, and when my mentor looks at my tattoo afterwards she’s love the soft look. I guess it’s a difficult choice because we all work differently just like Oliver said, when I watched his first time using the exo I just just as excited using it for the first time, because it was a huge difference between my Fk iron, the ink go’s in like butter. And as a newish tattooed is was a good choice because of the less skin damage. I also look forward to using this machine every time I pick it up. And it’s good to have that confidence in finding the right medium for you. It’s all trial and error mate. I work slower than Oliver atm so I hope you this helps.

Bng setup for me is the fantom or the shader by bishop I'm pretty sure they run the same motor and stroke and color and lining I use a Dan kubin dmcv2 and the neuma 4 with a 3.6 stroke but yeah my wand gets used daily so I agree it makes u use technic and not depend on a tool so much

Cheyenne unlimited.. all day.. everyday.. for the last year plus.. batteries are so simple, use ine, have back up, charge other or both inbetween or after.. still running EXACTLY the same as day I got. Was an FK fan.. still am if km honest, Edge X, Xion, Flux.. but the Cheyenne unlimited does EVERYTHING I need all the time.. everyday. £950.. but that paid for itself within couple tatts.. so nice to use..

I’m sorry.. it is a fantastic machine.. the reviews look great for the liner for line heavy pieces and being able to move your hand quick on the pull, stippling.. mandalas with bigger groupings.. Here is the problem . If you put the blue tooth crap on the machine and all that jazz you messed up.. the blue tooth drains the batteries. I have the flux with 2 batteries and i get 6 to 7 hours out of it on 8 volts and 8.5 running all the time.. If you buy the machine dont mess with the bluetooth or software crap. Look into it i'm not the only one to say this.

I agree with the batteries on the exo. As far as shading I think it’s great. It does hit hard but it’s more of a hand technique thing. I get less passes with the exo but it takes more finesse.

That's what I think the motor in the flux /exo is running really fast even on 7,8,9 volts. 10 11 12 etc from the one I had . Would be insane.. huge difference between 9v on a flux vs 9 volt on shader wand that's like running 9v on packer wand and shader wand and being confused why one is causing more trauma .

I think you need to tell them you got bad batteries cuz I've been using those machines the Flux and the exo for over a yr now and each battery will last me up to 10 hrs and that's running it from 11am till 9pm and I do large pieces alot I have noticed though if the light is flashing more then one color it's not charging properly it has to b flashing one color

I think both of them are a waste of money it's not the tattoo machine it's the person wasting all that money for a motor and a tube. I can make it happen with a tape player motor and a Guitar string and prison made ink and make it look the same as if I was using both of them tattoo machines. China is killing the tattoo game at the moment. China is making better tattoo machines with German motors Swiss motors they are killing it hands down and the price is amazing. I can definitely buy anyone of these tattoo machines but y when I am getting better tattoo machines at the right price. I wouldn't even consider a rotary pen a "tattoo machine" and you never run a rotary over 7.5 volts And a actual shader should be 4mm+ as far as the stroke length
