I apprenticed in a shop with some very experienced artists. Your piece came out really good. You’re a great artist. I was taught you should never tattoo your own hands or arms because you can not stretch the skin properly. The needle bounces off the skin by design. Even the tightest skin usually needs stretched to get the correct needle depth every time. But yours came out so good I might just try it lol. Wish me luck!

That's incredibly kind ☺Thank you so much for commenting. It was for sure a challenge but came out decent, maybe needs a few touch ups. I will show it off next video now that it's healed. I can't believe I almost chose the more detailed stencil to try out 🤦♀😂 Simple was the way to go. Good Luck with yours and thank you for being here!!

I'm just starting out so I would have liked to know what you were doing how long it took and then the finished product too.

Congrats on starting out!! That's so exciting and thank you for being here and your comments ☺ The video was real time for me so around 30ish minutes to actually tattoo. The rest of the video was just mainly stencil and getting the nerve to start lol. I will show the finished product as well next video if you want to take a peek. It is fully healed now and I love to show that version of it.

You should let people know what size needle you're using the stroke the voltage the kind of ink you're using stuff like that I would be curious to know.

Absolutely! Thank you for the advice. I will take that going forward ☺ I appreciate you commenting. To quick reference it this time around, I used a R3 Liner for needle. I use MOM'S MILLENNIUM tattoo ink, this color was Black Onyx. As for voltage I honestly just play around with it, seems like I have to crank it up now and then. It's a dial with no real number value being an inexpensive machine so I wish I actually knew lol. I'll look more into it myself.

Thank you!! On and off since 2020. More consistently over the last 6 months or so though. I really love learning the whole process :)

I know that you're doing this on yourself, but please setup your area as a clean station. Whether or not it's at a shop, in your home, a client or yourself, it's worth taking the time to setup properly. Safety aside, you should be making a tight fist for the hand, the skin is too lax in an open position to get solid, straight lines and actually get consistent needle penetration.
