Funny thing, when I bought my first tat kit to start learning, it came with bug pin 3RL's and I couldn't figure out why my lines were so awful lol. So I ended up learning how to do my lines on super small needles and got good at it, then when I switched over to a standard 7RL or something of the sort, my lines looked like they were done by a robot because they were so straight and smooth. Totally accidental but it helped I guess lmao

What voltage do you use with your standards, I want to know the difference between your usage of standard to big pins.

I was also curious. You stated you turned it down to 7 for the buggies. Were you at 8 for the standards? Thanks brotha

The 5 on that is the size of the tip. Like you said the bug pin 7 is the size of a 5. So they pair it with a 5 tip.

So a bugpin 7rl is like a standard 1205round liner. Which a standard rl is a 0.35 mm correct? So if I were to buy a bugpin 0.25mm 7rl you are saying to turn down the voltage on the tat pen because it will shred the skin more ? What voltage should I set it at ?

thank you very much for the video :) i have a question 😅 isnt it so that there is not a huge difference if you choose a standard 12 03RL or for example a 10 05RL? i mean they make both about the same thick lines right? so is it better to have a thicker gauge but less needles, or a thinner gauge but with more needles? :)

I notice that I get better lines using a 10 07 RS opposed to a 12 05 RL . So I always use 10 7 RS 9 and 11 . I use bugpins for shading ( b & g stuff) as in curve magnums 08 13 RM and up And for colours I use 10 RM . I think that 12 RL RS and RM are too much for skin tho they are good for traditional tattoos

But then again I think is a matter of personal choice 🤔

Im having difficulty tattooing the meaty parts of the body like the upper arm, stomach, and thigh. I try to line with a 9rl with my voltage set at 10 and it seems that my needle doesnt penetrate the skin well. Any tips?
@Tattooing1015 ай бұрын
it all comes down to the stretch, if you can get them in a postiion that part of the body is naturally stretched out, it helps a lot

THis vid is a bit confusing, first you said if you want more saturated thin lines use bugpin, and later if you want more saturated lines use standart, which one gives you more saturation then in comparable sizes lest say 7 standart vs 9 bugpin should be roughly same size line?
@Tattooing1012 жыл бұрын
It depends on you look you are trying to get big pins work great for small groupings but I’ve never issue a bugpin bigger than a 7. From there you can use a regular liner just fine. I mainly use bugpins for my mags doing more black and gray styles
@ripper91122 жыл бұрын
@@Tattooing101 But im trying to figure out if it make sense to use bugpins at all as liners, they damage skin more, you gotta slow down hand speed, and they are less forgiving and you can achieve pretty much the same with standart size, looks like its better to just line with 0.35 all the time and shade with bugpins.
@xxchendricksxx15 ай бұрын
@ripper9112 they don't necessarily damage the skin more running single pass lines. A bugpin 5rl will make a more saturated line the size of a standard 3rl, but since there's more needles in the same size area, there will be more skin resistance when running the bugpins, so they don't cut through as easily.
@xxchendricksxx15 ай бұрын
@ripper9112 I use 10 gauge 3rl for everything though. Lining and shading.
