A mermaid with EKG lines (she supplied 2 of them for me to combine) that went through the body and turned in to specific song notations on the tail and the hair of the mermaid had to be colored and realistic just like the clients while the rest of the mermaid she wanted it in black and gray. The mermaids hands where supposed to turn in to bonsai branches and then turn in to an obscure symbol that turned in to her, her husbans and her kids initials. OH and she wanted it to be super tiny.

IMO, it's the same thing, my one buddy is going on about "racist bad, lgbtq+ good"... I can't get him to get past the concept that that's not the point. I used to work as a receptionist at a tattoo shop, and the best tattoos I saw there were ones where the artist was given a large amount of creative license. Like, someone gives a few elements that they want in the piece and a general style and let the artist come up with the design.

I only want 2 tattoos so far, and they're both very simple, meaningful designs. Nothing big or intricate. So I don't assume the artist could really "do their thing" much with that, anyways. When I got my tat, the idea I'd sketched was a bit too intricate for the size, so the artist asked if he could redraw it. His design/drawing was better. I also wanted it in color. He hesitated and suggested just do shading. If I still wanted color after the shading, he'd do color. He was right. So I have a shaded greyscale image.

That’s just it though homie. These artists should have the honestly and pride to say they can’t do that style of work. Not every shop has their work and names just plastered everywhere. I wanted to memorialize him, so I had the idea that since he was religious I would get a tattoo of a dove carrying an olive branch in its beak flying upwards into a ray of light from the sky to symbolize my Dad joining the afterlife.
