You obviously put a lot of work into this video. The computer animations are great. This is a much better idea than those videos with a person holding a machine in bad lighting and pointing in a general direction with a fat finger.I have taken college courses where the instructor did not put as much effort into their presentation as you did. Thank You.

@8Danchi8 are you speaking of 2:27 the gap from the front spring and the screw ? it depends on the machine a liner is a short stroke 2mm a shader is 4mm but the front spring is also different and the rear spring has different amounts of tension th eliner has more tension and the shader has less .. see the video labeled "Correct tattoo machine settings"

This makes a lot of sense to me. I have tattoos that I did on myself with a line needle. It was difficult when it came time to do the color filling. Plus I only had line needles. But all in all my tats came out decent.

@TATTOOTRAINING It was a basic rule of thumb, and its correct, your statements about the various shader/packer/liner/cutter completely agrees with it. As I said, in the end its up to artist preference. Ive seen some pretty amazing tattoos done with unconventional methods and weird setups. I dont know how much time you have had in this game but if you had over 20 years experience in it you would have seen the same thing.

@VVR13FLAKO the size of the line .... but for small are shading you use a 9 round not a liner , a 7 liner can be used first then a 3 to shape or sharpen a line , a shader you are referring to is a traditional medium gap style NOT a cut back . but a nickle gap with a 7 mag #10 bugpin with a medium value wash

@xxsurcentralxx you can also get a bipolar cap so you dont have to think about this they are the ones that both wires come out of the same end 47uf 35v otherwise neg end has a grooves near the end
@TATTOOTRAINING13 жыл бұрын
@gambleyourhealth not becouse you need to realize there are 2 types of liners and shaders , long and short gap . single pass liner short gap , scultptin gliner big gap , traditional shader medium gap cutback shader short gap . 2.0mm gap singlepass liner cutback shader - short front spring .018 - .020 rear 22-33uf cap 3.5mm gap trad shader .018 front n rear 33-47uf cap 4.0-4.5mm gap color packer-sculpting liner long front .016-.018 / .018 rear 47uf cap see my other videos

Is the arm bar in both machines the same height and weight? What is the angle of inclination in the front spring? I bought two springs, one front of 45 mm and one rear of 34 mm. The front wasn't bend so I bent it. It all seems correct but now I have a weird problem. The front spring is too high and the contact screw needs to be so inclined to reach it; in a 20° angle. I have a liner machine that is perfectly calibrated, like the video says, so I compared measures on both machines. The only difference that I found (besides the ones that actually have to be there, according to the video) is the height of the arm bar, being 5 mm shorter the one on my shader machine. I haven't really tested the shader machine because I'm waiting for some coils that I bought online, so I really don''t know if this difference with the shader of the video is gonna be a problem.

to retrace it to where its dark enough witch causes more pain.. i was wondering if u could recommend a r-liner that make a good thick line the first time? and i was thinking of changing to round shaders for outlineing? wat r ur thoughts? i didnt really get ur needle vid..
@TATTOOTRAINING13 жыл бұрын
@VVR13FLAKO you need to read "Reinventing the tattoo " im sure a free pdf file can be found online there is a section about sculpting lining . the thickness of a line depends on the size of the peice and the peice it self some lines are thinner depending on foreground background or inside lines used for separation , its called "line wieght " only smaller lines can be done in a single pass

i have a 10 wrap coil... will it work perfect for linings....I am new to this! tired making a line on my arm but as I whip off once im done with the drawing a line the wound is visible but the ink wipes off! where am I making the mistake? I tried moving the machine really slow and it works 50% I cannot understand is it the speed of my hand movement or is it that I am not poking the needle deep enough....

@ClearSightX there is no set speed there are 2 types of shading and lining machines , the speed is built into the machine , if your machine isnt built for a specific function tweeking a screw is pointless

Great video but i have one (maybe stupid) question. When you say the angle of the contactscrew should be between 25° and 30°, from where is that messured. On the diagram, the angle of the liner's contactscrew seems way bigger than the one on the shader. Is the "zero-line" horizontal or vertical? The diagram suggest horizontal, hence my confusion...
@arealassassin3 жыл бұрын
Ignore that nonsense. Just make sure that your contact screw meets the spring at a 90degree angle- screw to spring. Choose spring length, and adjust binder post and screw to suit.

@tattootraining i think u misunderstood me.. i ment wat is the difference between a 3rl, 5rl, and a 7rl? is 3rl a thiner line and 7rl thick? and also what is the difference between a 3, 5, 7, and 9 flat and round shader and their uses.. for ex: wat do i use to shade in old english, and for the smoke/fog effect shadeing, and shadeing around a name..

Hi, just got a beginner tattoo set with 3 guns. Altho there are differences in the frames, the distances between the armature bar and the coil are the same. I really can't tell a measurable difference. So I can't tell if I have all liner guns or shader guns. And at this point (beginner) it's all going to be hard! Any suggestions on how to figure this out, or just go for it, learn from my mistakes (on fake skin)?

@TATTOOTRAINING ok so then if all kits are a waste thens whats good for the work to be done? there are some suppliers i came accross named eikon, hilbrandt, and some other custom made machines their all a waste?
@TATTOOTRAINING11 жыл бұрын
actually i set alll machine at a 45 , ( i didnt make this its just a outtake of a video i though would be a good beginner intro explanation ). the contact on a shader needs to be forward becouse the geometry of the FRAME puts it there. not the angle of the screw
@psybera198714 жыл бұрын
@TATTOOTRAINING which tattoo kit would you advice?
@TATTOOTRAINING13 жыл бұрын
@VVR13FLAKO yes the 7rnd is a bigger "weight" line than a 3 , and you dont want to use "FLATS " you use MAGS no t the same ... a 5 mag or 7 mag is for smaller areas than a 17 mag also the needle come in different sizes standard is #12 THINNER #10 OR #8 IS FOR SHADING but for what you mentioned you want a 7 mag #10 needle it goes in a 9mag tip SEE MY NEEDLE VIDEO
@TATTOOTRAINING14 жыл бұрын
@JTOPETE14 well yah if it is a true 8 and 10 and not just some added wrapping (see my padded bra coil vid) but yah less layers is less size, but that really has nothing to do with what is the liner or shader the 8 is typically a liner and SHOULD have a short front spring , but if it was a kit it is all wrong anyway . you need to get a set of spring for both 1 set liner and one set shader 18g from infinite irons or atimemachine , then set the tension ,, lots of my vids to watch

@psybera1987 well if you are sold a junk kit that isnt properly tuned ,doesnt have the proper springs how much good information can the dvd have ? take it for what its worth but i bet you dont learn anything i dont already have up . it will show you how to put a needle in a tune and put the tube on the machine , beyond that dont expect much

@psybera1987 im use my machines , i build my own , it depends on what you want to pay for you can go 3000.00 for one thats good to go or you can go to ITS international tattoo supply and then all you have to do is tune them by adjusting the tension or replacing the springs with the proper ones. unless you pay 200 or more per machine they will not be properly tuned but that is something you should learn for yourself anyway

@StiffFingers1 YOU CAN USE A 3.5 GAP FOR SHADER AND A LINER BUT NOT A 2.0 DIME LINER I BET YOUR LINER IS A DIME LINER OR SINGLE PASS LINER , THAT IS NO GOOD FOR BEGINNERS . SET IT UP WITH .018 SPRING FRONT AND BACK. 400 GRAMS REAR SPRING TENTION AND A 3.5 GAP THEN YOU CAN USE IT FOR BOTH
@TATTOOTRAINING14 жыл бұрын
@JTOPETE14 8.1 or 10.1 JK first they are not wraps , it layers a 8 layer coil can have 300 wraps , also it depends on wire size and core size . many cheap coils say 10 but are only 8 and many are uneven , the only way to know you have good coils is get american hand made 10layer coils they have 12 but a proper 10 will do any job , look up bicknee

@VVR13FLAKO no thats pointless, boiling is not the same you need heat and PRESSURE if you dont have a pressure cooker then use disposable or at least scrub them well and soak the parts in barbacide for 10 minutes , but even a 10lb pressure cooker used for 30 minutes will kill everything . only use sterile pouches with pressure cooker
