That finish, exactly in time with the end of the music, gave me goosebumps! Amazing choreography, danced so dramatically and precisely.

Love loved her! Extreme difficulty a head of her time and passionate expressive choreography! We didn't get to see much of her but still one of my favorite gymnasts of that era!

This is one of my favorite moments in gymnastics history. Groshkova was the first (and only, to my knowledge) to ever do a double full-in back out on floor. Plus, her dance is exquisite. This is a must see!

I totally agree with you. She had the balletic grace and flexibility of a rhythmic gymnast and the power needed for artistic gym. She was coached by Elvira Saadi, who was on the 1972 Olympic Soviet Team.

Groshkova was plagued by inconsistency (to use a beautiful cliche). I don't know if her execution was that great, but she had guts like no other. I think Mo Huilan had the most guts since Groshkova to try what she did on uneven bars (Gaylord front). Elvire Teza is another gutsy one (the Teza is crazy). Then there are the Bulgarian tumblers... pretty sick bunch, both men and women. And of course, Chusovitina and Gutsu were both risk takers.

@afgymnast96 yes I do, when she was training for the 1991 world championships her coach was waiting for a job in Canada, when Tatiana finishes 11th Elvrira Saadi (coach) got the job in Canada and she moved to Canada to train gymnasts over there. Tatiana was left without a coach and quit gymnastics a week later, she joind for a short while a circus but that didn't work out. Later she moved to Holland to start her gymnastics career again but she coulden't get the papers for living there. ...

You're right. Silivas' double double is a full in full out, where as Groshkova's is a double full in. Now that there's a new H element for the 2013 COP, if anybody ever performed Groshkova's double full in, it would probably be an H like the full twisting double layout.
@picaridin113 жыл бұрын
@dmdse1 or probably it seems familiar because Elvira Saadi was her coach and Saadi's routine were very much influenced with Spanish movements/music.

Her first tumble,people,is Double in,back out. It is very difficult because you do double twist in the first flip and then you have to pull to get around and land it. Now im not acting smarty pants,im just saying. To me,that type of tumble is more of a double twisting double pike,because it has a very similar tehnique to full twisting double pike.
