On Budget EDH we build fun and optimized commander decks with a budget in mind. In this week's episode we build a Tatyova, Benthic Druid $50 budget commander deck from the Magic the Gathering set Domanaria. We will ramp early, play our Tatyova and combo off with Landfall, drawing cards and winning with Laboratory Maniac or Psychosis Crawler!

Correct me if I am mistaken, but when you explain the capsize + wilderness reclamation combo, you say to untap at the end of every opponents turn. However, wilderness reclamation untaps your lands only at your own end step. Still, a powerful interaction in this deck, but a bit harder to bounce all lands from your opponents. Keep up the good work!

This is a nice take on Tatyova. I'd would personally add more removal like Cyclonic Rift to this list. But it's really expensive.

Elfhame Sanctuary is a decent card that I have in my Tatyova deck. Its cheap and it guarantees a land each turn. I also run Ovinomancer, he's a bit too slow for rapid creature removal, but he's in mostly for the land return function.

wilderness reclamation works on your end step not your opponents. so you can untap lands only once between your turns not every turn.

For the lands, I would cut some number of basic lands. Forests are generally more important in the deck. The other cards depends on your meta, but I could see cutting some number of ramp spells for some of the more impactful cards.

That's one way to build tatyova. I built mine with clone cards to create token copies of Avenger and/or Rampaging baloth with cards like Mirror Image, Quasiduplicate and Saheeli's Artistry. I noticed you didnt add more fetchlands like the panorama, warped landscape and terminal moraine, they seem cheap enough to include though, any input on that?

They definitely work, but I usually try to keep the tapped land count down if I can.

@@BudgetEDH I understand that they fetch lands tapped like evolving wilds do, but atleast they themselves can be immediately tap for a colorless which isnt so bad. Also, with a lot of fetchlands on the yard, you can now recur them with cards like Splendid Reclamation and World Shaper to have more landfall/tatyova triggers.

Thanks for the video. Looks like there was a slight editing error at 10:30 just fyi. I enjoyed the video but I got a little bored with you reading every single card, especially the more common EDH staples. I'd rather you just summarized cards talking more about the strategy for the cards rather than reading something that is displayed in the video. Highlighting specific critical cards is fine, I just got bored waiting for you to finish reading cards like Cultivate or Lightning Greaves, especially since the card was displayed on screen for people to read if they weren't already familiar with it.

Good call on the getting bored part, I felt like this one was a bit on the long side once I got done with it. Trying to find that right balance between going over enough cards (for the new to EDH/Magic crowd) and keeping them shorter.
