Just for the record, for people asking him to do gameplay of these decks, I've bought this deck and it performs really well! (At least it stomped my friend's decks from the Commander Anthology he bought) Also this deck has a friggin infinite combo in it! You need: -Any 1 land on the field -Trade Routes -Retreat to Coralhelm -Skyshroud Ranger or Sakura-Tribe Scout When all of these are on the field, presumably after playing your land for the turn, you tap your land to use Trade Routes' first ability, and then you want to return any TAPPED land to your hand. Then, you tap Skyshroud Ranger/Sakura-Tribe Scout to let you play that land you just put back in your hand. Now, it triggers Retreat to Coralhelm's Landfall ability, allowing you to untap the creature you just tapped. Now everything is essentially reset and you can use that land again, doing this infinite times. Obviously that doesn't do anything by itself, but you can combine it with any Landfall ability on the field to have insane effects. When I was playing, I used my commander to essentially draw my entire deck into my hand, then I took 7 cards I wanted, discarded all of them, then activated Elixir of Immortality to put them back in my library. My next turn, I played Psychosis Crawler, which deals 1 damage to each opponent when I draw a card, so I just drew my whole deck again and zapped my friends down to zero! Psychosis Crawler also has power and toughness dependent on my hand size, so as a result I added a Reliquary Tower I had laying around into the deck, and I'm thinking of getting a couple other unlimited hand size cards for the deck, I was actually surprised when I realized they weren't already in the deck list.

I also have been running this deck (or a slightly more expensive version of it) and I've only started playing tabletop MTG 4 days ago and I've already done some good matches and a win with this deck vs long-term (ex-)tournament players. Being able to have 10+ lands on within 4-5 turns really helps in EDH, especially in multiplayer.

Or just add simic growth chamber and make it bounce itself on entering the battlefield. With lotus cobra thats infinite mana
@elijahmthompson23136 жыл бұрын
*WARNING:* After fully upgraded.... when Tatyova is on the battlefield with lotus cobra it becomes a long non-deterministic combo where you search out fetches get a ton of mana draw, search out a land from the fetch, draw, and have a million mana..... This takes a long time to shuffle and draw in between searching for lands and it could lose you friends.
@TheCommandersQuarters6 жыл бұрын
Haha thank you for the public service announcement ;)

Thats why you practice and optimize your drawing and shuffling skills and get used to all the trigger that happen. A friend of mine did this with his chulane deck. As I played this, to resolve all those triggers took me an eternity and he plays it out so smooth in 2 to 3 minutes. Same goes for my Chainer nightmare adept artifact reanimator, I'll try to get used to all the triggers I have and execute em as efficient as possible :)

Update: Upgraded this by removing a lot of the two drop creatures and the extra land artifacts with Omniscience, a few counter spells, some big creatures that care about lands, and some better land search cards. Probably replaced about 10-15 cards. Let’s just say I went 20 minutes on one turn stealing everyone’s creatures, playing lands, gaining life and making tons of beast tokens. This deck is SICK.

This deck....idk man. Focused might not be the right term for it. It’s incredibly powerful. Especially after adding a couple upgrades. I’ve played with it multiple times now and only lost to someone stealing my turn and getting lucky with decking me out. A lot of the power is that it has the potential for so many wincons. I added craterhoof, overwhelming stampede, and am looking at lab man. But really, it’s just insane. There’s just so much value and it’s really hard for people to stop everything you’re doing. Thanks so much for coming up with this, I’m in love with the deck.

Wow, this was released in August 2018 and it's currently January 2020. There's such a difference in how enthusiastic you are when going through your decklist. This is a point I brought up in one of your surveys. I'm so happy you're doing it the way you are now. I'm checking this out because I want to find a more tame deck to build to play against beginners that might not be as powerful as my more tuned decks.
@BlaineTog6 жыл бұрын
This is really sweet, but I don't feel it's making the best possible use of all that ramp. The curve maxes out at 6 and we're going to end up with like 20-30 lands on the battlefield! Surely there's room for some tasty X-cost hydra or something? Blue Sun's Zenith would be really sweet, too, especially since we can also use it on ourselves in case everything goes wrong and we run low on cards in hand, plus it's only $1. It's not an X-spell but Aetherwind Basker could work really well with our token plan, generating an absurd amount of Energy and one-shotting people out of nowhere, even through a bunch of blockers. That one might be a little too Timmy, though. Ooo, here's a spicy idea: Sylvan Awakening to jank out wins. It even ignores Cyclonic Rift! I don't know if that's *good* per se but there's a certain poetic justice in beating people to death with your lands themselves.
@TheCommandersQuarters6 жыл бұрын
All great points and definitely good considerations for the deck! I definitely agree that the mana can be spent to cast one giant threat or to draw a ton of cards, I decided to go with a more wide approach and just cast as many ramp spells as possible to get as much value from all of the landfall triggers in this deck. As for Sylvan Awakening, that's definitely a good consideration as well, however I am very hesitant when it comes to turning my lands into creatures (even if they are indestructible) as it is still a huge risk since someone can just cast Settle the Wreckage, Aetherize, Aetherspouts, Evacuation, etc, and then you basically just lose. My approach is more, if I am up, I want to stay up and not take huge risks that could just lose the game on the spot. But everyone has a different approach and different amounts of risk they are willing to take on which is one of the things that makes magic so much fun!

Update #2: Played this deck in the South Carolina Commander Cup on 9/22. Ended up in the top 4 at the final table after 4 rounds of grueling 4 man pods. Finished third. When this deck goes off - it goes off. I added the new Multani and Sylvan Awakening. I also added Bribery. I took a 10-15 minute turn ending with killing my opponents with 6 creatures that were 60/60 with trample thanks to a stolen Craterhoof. The other game I went off on I had a 46/46 Multani with 34 8/8 Avenger of Zendikar tokens along with 43 2/2 lands thanks to Avenger of Zendikar and Sylvan Awakening. This deck is a BLAST and it’s going to be my permanent main competitive EDH project. Many thanks.

So I've been looking at some cards that might break from the 25c theme but will still make cheap additions to beef up the deck. What do you think about the $4 Nissa, Steward of Elements for some extra land drops and beaters and the $2.50 Avenger of Zendikar for a late game finisher?

Ulvenwald Hydra would be great for this deck. with the possibility of having a bunch of lands out really quick this thing would get huge fast. It has reach so can block pesky flyers. I made this deck and loved it so upgraded it its about 130 bucks now. Lotus cobra is so powerful in this deck. You play ramp spells to draw and make more mana to play more ramp spells if you upgrade the deck i extremely recommend lotus cobra scapeshift roil elemental and the extra land per turn creatures like wayward swordtooth asuza oracle of muldaya. If you want to be cheeky play abundance. Abundance with any creature like llanowar scout and retreat to coralhelm with tatyova means you play a land draw a card name land. Every land in the deck now on the battle field also abundance is cheap and just good to ensure not grabing to many lands

Been playing Tatyova for around 4 months, and once you upgrade the deck, it is just insane. Winning consistently on turn 5, 6, and 7 is something that destroys normal edh tables. So far, I have only lost 2 or 3 games with this deck, out of the 150 or so I have played. With the addition of counterspells into the deck, it becomes essentially unstoppable. By upgrading the deck with optimal ramp cards, you never really have bad opening hands, and always accelerate too quick for most opponents to handle. I truly think this deck is one of the better decks that is not inherently cEDH, and this decklist really shows why.

I love your budget series and I think it's been pretty big in encouraging me to get back into magic. One common issue I've noticed across some of these videos, especially this one, is the lack of interactivity in the decklists. It's not like every deck has to be filled with counterspells and boardwipes, but a deck without any form of removal whatsoever feels kind of bad to play. A focused commander deck should have at least some forms of removal or answers to opposing threats. I've been playing around with this deck and a few budget options I've personally found that work well with the theme are Slinn Voda the Rising Deep, Scourge of Fleets, and Turntimber Basilisk (why is cyclonic rift so expensive lmao). Also included some simic staples like Acidic Slime, Terastodon, Curse of the Swine, and Reclamation Sage.

The Jhoira one is nuts! Played 1v1 with a friend (not that representative of normal EDH games though). A little repetitive in multiple games, but I think that's probably true of most budget or combo decks.

Humm no "patron of the moon"? I'd also say "soratami savant" is extremely good here. And I'd say about having a bit more of landfall: oran rief hydra is terribly underrated as big dumb beater and undergrowth champ is superb. Maybe you should have included them in the "upgrades" section. The deck seems like a ton of fun. As an Omnath player, I'm probably getting it to change a bit the taste of my landfall dudes.
@TheCommandersQuarters6 жыл бұрын
Definitely good reasonable upgrades! Soratami Savant is very good if you are finding the need that you need to counter a lot of things. She wasn't included since her ability costs 3 to activate rather than 2 or even 1 of other "return land to hand" abilities.

The win con of going infinite with retreat to coralheim seems a little fragile, if my opponents destroy that enchantment I'm left with only two or three other cards that can help me win. The combo may be fragile, but it's definitely not needed to win. You can overwhelm your opponents with creature tokens created every time a land comes into play. Thanks will do! All good cards to consider! Definitely a great commander and one I might try for in the future!

Honestly, I was surprised you never mentioned Multani. With the number of lands in play, you easily get something akin to 20/20 trample with reach to boot. And immune to anything short of exile since she just needs to bounce lands to get back. Of more expensive Cards Nissa Vital Force should also fit in nicely with her Ult being easy to trigger and adding yet more card advantage and ramp with her +1. Maybe Garuk Primal Hunter as well... He does require three turns but leaves nice 3/3 tokens on the way and capping it out with 1 6/6 Wurm token per land we control. I'd also consider Heroic Intervention since recently I encountered Lord Windgrace Land matters deck with Obliterate so aside from World Shaper it would be a good card to defend our lands.

Great cards to consider for the deck as well!

Hi I was wondering if you could let me know what are the lower value cards you'd recommend taking out if I wanted to make room for some removal/ protection against fliers. I play with a group of friends who run decks that are often heavy with creatures with different sorts of evasion and I'm looking to make this deck a little less susceptible to that. Im loving this channel so far thanks for putting in the work that you do!
@TheCommandersQuarters6 жыл бұрын
Hi there! My recommendation would be to test the deck out for yourself to see what your preferences are in it! I don't like to give hard and dry cuts on these since people play the deck differently, and you should make it so that it's in a good spot for you! Shouldn't take too long to figure out what cards work well for you, and which ones you wouldn't miss too much if you cut them.

Since there's a lot of effects that have lands come into play tapped, or multi color lands that come into play tapped, do you think an Amulet of Vigor would be helpful? I actually found one in my older collection.

If I got the $25 patreon rank would Iimmidetely get a deck made and shipped or do I have to wait a couple months?
@TheCommandersQuarters6 жыл бұрын
Good question! The deck actually comes with the deck tech, and you get one deck tech per year, which would happen at the end of that year at the General Level Tier. This is just to ensure that someone doesn't just sign up for that tier, immediately get their deck and deck tech, and then drop it after it's sent and the deck tech is made live.

Best upgrade for that deck still is lab maniac

Btw, I'm gonna make a Battle Box Commander for my playgroup on this New Year as a gift for all of them :D You definately should make an "improved" videos about those decks, not full format, just inform us about some nice additions up to 50$ overall budget From Russia with love)

It's missing Budoka Gardener, it's a bug on TCGPlayer because it tries to find it if you use "Buy This Deck".

that moment you use Uyo to overload a Scour From Existence... Retreat to Coralhelm is broken AF in this deck. the combo is Uyo+retreat to Coralhelm+Llanowar Scout(or other)+Scour From Existence this is way easier to assemble then it sounds like... it require Uyo and retreat but those two generally come together once every few games in a timely manner, lastly you just need a targeted removal spell, and the best one for that is Scour because it targets ANY permanent(and yes, your opponent's lands are gone too). there are always some games where people have ways to answer your bullshit but the moment this combo goes off they can't even counter it as even cards like Counterflux just require you to copy the spell a few more times and don't change the outcome. removal still goes on top of the stack and will still only matter if they catch you off guard as you can just wait and scour in response to removal.. don't yet know if players catch up to those types of BS but the people I play with already know the shenanigans I run. this is pretty much a "win more" combo that is purely for gimmick but holy F is it powerful to just overload whatever spell you cast(Part the Waterveil anyone?)

What's the Hivemind here think about something like Lab maniac, or Ruin Crab as alternate wincons?
@theteddy14873 жыл бұрын
Lab Man is viable if your deck is highly tuned or you're playing in a really casual pod, Crabs however aren't great as a win con (hard to mill when a deck has 99 cards in it) but against decks that don't rely on their graveyards it's still great to interrupt your opponents plans.
@Proggish3 жыл бұрын
@@theteddy1487 so I haven't been using the lab man, but ruin crab has seen some pretty big success. No wincons yet, but enough of a "big scary threat" to cause the table to try and run him off the board.
