The guys at poorhammer said that 40K is a 3 turn game that masquerades as a 5 turn game. So with kauyon I was like “ah, this is nostalgic and reminds me of 5th through 7th editions where there weren’t army rules.

Yer that's a good way of describing it tbh, you often know how a game is going in the 1st 3 turns, so a late game buff is less useful ! Saying that I had 2 really close games at my last tournament that went down to the final points scoring 🤯

@@taosterlord157 It might be better. My fondness for 40K was back before there were army rules (mostly 5th and 6th edition) so kauyon not doing anything for me most of the time was nostalgic lol.

Honestly, the book actively looks like they try do something with the army. The CIB change is very welcome, and it is coupled with a nice bit of rule power for other kinds of stuff. I do personally strongly support the idea that strength should come balanced from non-single note rules (the kauyon combos were about as interesting as eating sawdust) and datasheets, and that seems to be the direction here. The points may need a drop, but honestly these are 4 detachments, out of which 2 seem highly competitive (montka and the battlesuit one, ofc we will see how it turns out), 1 might find a niche (kauyon), and 1 (kroot) I have no clue about. Honestly a very good ratio.

I much prefer not having to rely on crisis suits, the CIB spam was never a fun play style for me, I like suits with tricks 😁 I'm hoping the Ta'unar is well priced enough to take again too lol

Whoa, Crisis Suits are going WAY down in points. Glad to see that they're actually taking the huge changes into account!

Although based on the latest points there are no points changes yet for Tau... but there may be a Tau specific update coming soon, don't know why they separated it...

I'm hoping this codex does improve the Tau. Since 10th dropped, they are the one army that my marines can consistently beat.

That's interesting ! But yer they haven't been the best but can be tuned to make sing I think. Having mont'ka back is great I think... let's see 😁

I think the meta is in a good place with each faction pulling wins against any other tbh..

well neat stuff me i j just play em in dawn of war and one day got get the darn mods thay got all the cool stompy stuff in the mods and if did and army think i get a theam out the dawn of war army painter wish put that out a s progam just by it self so if get stuck or hate the box art you see new paint sceames before you try em out on test minis see nest time

I've never actually played Dawn of War actually ! Maybe I need to try it lol I do like how well different colour schemes work with Tau, they are very forgiving of clean painting and then some panel liners 😁

Haha fair enough 🙈 they were really oppressive in 9th for a period and then everyone spammed crisis suits. I'm hoping this opens up more of the codex for fun lists.... also I'm waiting to see the points for the ta'unar lol

well the bleeing REPLY not working ok i do not know need to look at thew the game to see but if fugg with it you come some good ones like say if had it its own thing you think of colour schems if get stuck or just cant think of some besides the box art or out the WD mag or the books or pic on line in programe you turn the figger 360 and other stuff ho if do get it and mods be cafel the slannesh army has verry adult sayings LOL
