Sundowning is a term used in the US (maybe elsewhere, I'm not sure) to describe the decline one sees in dementia patients at night. While I know this term, I see no reason why it cannot be separated from Andy Tauer's intention with naming this scent. The multiuse of words and phrases across countries, languages, and cultures happens all the time. I own and adore Sundowner, which to me is tobacco done stunningly well. Just as we would expect from Tauer.

Ah, I must confess, I wasn’t aware of this particular usage of the term. I suspect Andy Tauer wasn’t either. Thanks for the comment.

Sprayed yesterday - first impressions a little underwhelming - this is unusual for me as I generally like Tauers. BUT after 30 minutes it really kicked in and I was sniffing away at my cuff as if my life depended on it. It's great and I'm definitely pining for a bottle now! My own favourite Tauer is Lonestar Memories (also have a bottle of Vetiver Dance which I dip into occasionally). Wish they'd bring back the 15ml explorer bottles....

And what a coincidence. I haven't worn Naja for ages but this afternoon I sprayed myself with it and here we are!

Thank you for this. I wasn't even thinking of Sundowner until I saw this. I love Tauer and tobacco so this might just be for me.

Well hi there Persolaise, it's great to hear your thoughts on this one. I am a great fan of Andy Tauer, he creates perfumes that rival the great vintages we all miss so much. Some of them are not for me but I do love his Oudh, Au Coeur du Désert, Incense Extreme and Orange Star. One of my favorite citrus fragrances ever..... Thank you for sharing, till the next! And by all means, nag him to do an interview! The world is waiting for him to appear on your channel. You're not just some random glossy, you know.......

Maybe all of you should tell him he ought to do an interview on this channel 😉 Thanks for watching.

I love cinnamon as a note and this fragrance has a tone of it. I purchased a bottle the first chance i had. I love it.

I picked up a mini of this and am still exploring it. I like L’Air as perfumery art, but don’t wear it much (only have a mini and samples). Maroc pour Elle and Une Rose Chypree are probably my top 2 Tauers - nobody ever talks about Maroc pour Elle. Enjoyed this video - intrigued by the idea of a subconscious tribute to Vero Kern.

I adore Le Maroc. Such a sensuous jasmine. Thanks for watching.

Luckyscent carries this in the US so it can't be a limited edition, and I just ordered a sample. Though I have to confess, I struggle w/ most of his scents and have never gotten past just ordering samples. Orange Star which I know is one of your favorites transported me to a strange time/space, I found bizarrely dark (which is so unique about the sense of smell). Perhaps, it reminded me of a not so happy past life in Morocco. 🧐

Yes, negative associations caused by smells can be tough to shake off. Thanks for watching.

I have not explored Andy Tauer after not loving LDDM. I am intrigued by the mention of naturals. I do need to go back and sample a few of his line before passing judgment.

I’d say you really ought to check out his work. L’Air is certainly his best known piece, but as I say in the video, I don’t think it’s his most interesting.

I love Tauer's work but I'm always wary about tobacco fragrances. Tobacco, as coffee by the way, is definitely NOT a sweet scent so usually perfumers like to sweeten it up like a candy and I ain't a fan of that, it spoils the experience. Nonetheless, since it's a Tauer, it's worth at least a test...I hope he surprises me once more

After smelling sundowner, I instantly remembered the new rhino formulation by zoologist. Ofcourse this smells more natural however I found them very similar...

Tauer seems to like to use sandalwood and/or vanilla, so I don't have much experience with his frags, but a tobacco fragrance that I've been enjoying recently is Maya Njie's Tobak. Do you know it?

No, I don’t know that one. Thanks for watching.

@@Persolaise I'm afraid so. At least I couldn't find it anywhere on Andy's website. 😭

Yes. I am still heartbroken over the discontinuation of Carillon pour un Ange. Heartbreaking! Why? Why? Why? My favourite of his… This has happened so many times to me. Finding one finally that I love, after much effort and expense. Then, either discontinued, or a shadow of its former self. One could easily grow to to despise this industry!
