What exactly is the point in those tees on the 1st? You can go back by 2 clubs length from the tee anyway and you have tees within that disstance (red/blue), I would imagine white and yellow as well.

It's winter here, so many course managers, myself included will put tees close together and out of normal measured positions to spread the wear throughout the winter. We would only put tees into measured for competitive play only as the grass takes longer to recover.

Not really because relevant people, Men, Ladies and Juniors should still have designated areas to play their social games from. its just how winter golf is, tees bunched or on mats and the use of winter greens. generally our courses are too small and designed with small teeing grounds that can't accommodate the frequency of play and wear.

What I am saying is that if you remove a tee you will get a reduced distribution of wear. It makes no difference to anyone in that situation if a colour tee is removed. I'm sure the juniors/ ladies/men could get used to play off a different colour tee over the winter (Autumn) as it will make zero difference to their game as the hole is the same distance away.

+streamleazefishhouse in an ideal world you are right. But members can be very particular about what they want, and at the end of the day members run the majority of golf clubs and pay our wages. so what they want they get.

Third hole, ' A little over 400 yds off the back tees'. Then you focus on the yardage board, it says 364 yds. Am I dreaming?

There should be a penalty for someone who calls a shot, but then does not perform that shot. If there is no penalty you could just call for a shot each time until you perform it.....Just a thought
