Had an old Taurus 94, .22lr w 4 inch barrel given to me when i was 12 by my dad, but had it stolen 10 years ago and eventually got it back after 4-5 years. Sent it into Taurus who called back saying it was out of spec and to pick whatever at a 425 dollar value. Ordered a 942 stainless in 3 inch (same as this), which they honored ..... on a 30 year old pistol and picked it up the 942 today. Very impressed.

Absolutely. That sounds great. Taurus does have a very fast return on repairs I noticed. I had sent my Rossi.38 special revolver for crown issues / shot placement off, and they replaced entire barrel , tested after replacement and returned back to me in one week.

My first revolver back in the early 1970's was an H&R model 922. It was what I could afford at the time, and was a great little revolver that I put thousands of rounds through. This Taurus looks like it would be an excellent first time hand gun. Plinking with a .22 revolver in the backwoods is one of the fondest memories of my life. I hope generations to come will continue to enjoy this precious freedom.

Best 22LR that I have bought. Trouble free, easy to clean, and very accurate. I had a problem with lead nose bullets; it accumulated lead in the barrel close to the tip and I notice that my accuracy diminished. Took a light to the barrel and there was a lead residue build up close to the tip of the barrel where the bullet comes out. With I brushed with a brass brush until it was sparking clean, then I got my accuracy back. Now I stay away from lead bullets and use copper coated to keep the lead build up down. No problem now.

I have an ultra lite 9 and it is a great little revolver. I payed 250 for it and have had no problems with it. I don't know how old it is but I carry it daily because it never misfires and is accurate for personal defence. Don't underestimate 22lr for personal defence when you have 9 rounds of Stingers ready to go.

I just recently purchased a new Taurus 942. It was defective out of the box, would not ignite any primers. Sent it back to Taurus, after waiting 3 weeks for an update they finally answered their customer service line. They said the frame was so defective they would need to destroy the firearm and issue me a new one, replacing the serial number. Wait 8 weeks for delivery and I have to do an FFL transfer AND pay for it. Just a heads up.
@axmenfirearms83089 ай бұрын
Talk to the FFL dealer you bought it from. I'm an FFL and if we have a customer who bought a gun from us and the factory replaces it with a different gun under warranty (because it was defective or un-repairable) we don't charge the customer a FFL transfer fee. We have had Taurus, S&W, Kel-tec, FNUSA and even Glock replace guns.

On a rimfire revolver, the firing pin hits the brass rim, which is softer than the firing pin/hammer. If you have no brass in there, it could hit the steel cylinder unless specifically designed to stop short of hitting the cylinder, and could wear out or damage the striker. Best to use snap caps or empty brass casings if practicing dry firing with a rimfire.
@Quality_Guru4 жыл бұрын
You stated that this firearm is accurate yet you had an opportunity to demonstrate its accuracy on paper, but did not do so. The revolver Guy Blog showed paper targets that showed that it was just ok within the article. It also showed a sloppy forcing cone fitting. Perhaps the 3 inch is better. Would have loved to seen what it does on paper instead of your opinion. Not saying you are wrong, but as Reagan said “Trust, but verify.”
@notsoancientpelican4 жыл бұрын
I agree. It's silly to talk about demonstrating the accuracy of any firearm unless it's fired to a paper target, at a known distance, from the steadiest rest you can take. You have to remove the variable of the skill of the individual shooter demonstrating the firearm from the process as much as possible. I wish youtube posters would get this.
