Taurus GX4 Carry First Shots and Impressions

I had a Taurus P 911 I bought about 13 yrs ago and I put probably 1500 rounds through it before I sold it and never had a single hiccup with it it was really y great dependable gun for really reasonable price...I've had several other hand guns since by various manufacturers and none out performed that Taurus. So now I'm gonna get the GX4 carry Toro. Hope offers as good as most everyone says it is.

the best tip I can give is... if you're in a pinch and don't have the flathead to disassemble it. you can use the bottom of the 9mm round to turn the pin

That works, the side of a key, rounded end of a paper clip... You can literally walk..around your house and find things that fit and turn the takedown pin all over the place.

Yup, almost anything works. If you’re outside I’m sure you could find a flat rock in about 20 seconds that would work too. It’s awesome lol

The g3 has 4” barrel. So not much longer than the gx4,both a full size frames. I have the g3, and I love it. Taurus hand guns are so much better than the older ones.

I would go with the XL. Same length barrel as the carry but you have the option to run a shorter mag for less printing. The grip length is the part that sticks out for me.

Lock the slide back on a empty mag loosen up the Recoil Spring their fairly stiff i learn.

The GX4 Carry has a 3.7 barrel. The G3C is 3.2

Been shooting the gx4 micro lately starting to grow on me as I break it in it's getting to shoot one hole at 5 to 7 yards so I will definitely buy this xcarry model since I really like the sig p365 xmacro and this seems to be almost a clone of it.

Actually…. Other than the light rail the GX4XL is much more versatile.. uses the 11rd , 13rd & the 15rd mag Im happy with the 13+1 capacity.. but now I have a 15+1 option I own a G3X with is a G3 with a 3.2 inch barrel 15+1 & 17+1 Im happy with the new Taurus G series lineup .. with is great .. Im basically a Glock guy but seems like I favor the G series ergonomics

Carry says barrel is 3.7. The xl list 3.71. Carry has colored slides available. Wonder is they will fit the xl. The black slides finish is horrific.

While there is not a safety on the side, there is one built into the front of the trigger. If it's not pressed the trigger will not function properly.

@@Spidermonkey2a no I haven't but everyone I talk to said that they sent theirs back and came back the same way. Gonna keep in the drawer and try to fire it every now and then I would never carry this gun for my protection too many failures

I put a Veridian laser and a TLR 6 on the other X4 and they shoot the lights out at 15 yards !
