As far as trigger pull weight I don't know why people want a light trigger pull on a defensive pistol where when you are going to need to use it for real you are going to be under all kind of stresses and adrenaline and may very well likely fire the gun unintentionally with everything that's going on.... 🤔

The measured trigger pull (11:01) does seem a bit heavy but it is a carry gun after all. I always felt my Walther PPQ M2 was too lite so I switched to the heavier triggered PPS M2. I got used to that difference quickly - with practice. So hang in there…

Neither my feelings or finger are hurt about it. I do gun reviews, so I present information along with my opinion (see channel name) and commentary to the viewer. I'm actually familiar with many different triggers.
@russellshackelford3967 Жыл бұрын
I also prefer a not-light trigger on a carry gun. It's not a range gun than I'm gonna pump a couple hundred rounds thru on a given day. That's not what it's for. It's a gun to have within reach... which also means "within reach of misadventure". I want a carry gun trigger to make sure I mean it. Given that priority, I think the GX4 trigger is within spitting distance of perfect. Mine feels more clear and decisive than does my P365X's trigger that kinda mushes its way to doing its business. But honestly, while I like the GX4 better, the P365X is OK too. I'm not after trigger-fine-tuned-for-shooting-pleasure in a carry gun. I appreciate and admire great triggers that are crisp and appropriately light, but that's beyond what I care about in a carry gun, where IMO trigger lightness is actually a negative.

I thought it was a very good trigger in my reviews. I shot the gun very well. I was quite surprised with the accuracy. The trigger was not light; however it was crisp on the one I had. There was absolutely no creep at all. It hit the wall and then as soon as you overcome the trigger weight, it broke. At the end of the day I decided I preferred the P365, especially after I changed to the Wilson Combat grip module; however I really liked the gun.

I own a good number of Micro 9mm's. I bought the gun for many reasons, but as far as the trigger, I find it just what I was looking for in a EDC. I did not in anyway want a light crisp trigger. Again, this is a EDC gun not a target gun. Hickcock45 "I really like this trigger". I now have over 1500 rds of flawless shooting other than a few light primer strikes from some cheap reloads which I get in the Sig, Hellcat etc. My choice is the GX4, I really love the gun. By the way, my trigger after breaking in is around 6.2bs of pull. The Taurus trigger is unique. Just a little take up and a deliberate wall, but strangely easy to go through. The GX4 is a really winner.

When you mentioned mag capacity, you said 10 rounds. It normally comes with 11 round mags. I wonder if you accidentally got a state compliant variant? Maybe that could explain the heavier trigger? I think the hype on the trigger was mostly in comparison to the absolute garbage millennium based trigger on the g2 and 3. I had the G2c and the gun on the whole was great for the money but I shot it like a drunken stormtrooper because I couldn't get the hang of the trigger. Admittedly I didn't shoot it that often and could have probably learned but why when this exists. I sold it and bought this gun recently and the trigger is worlds better, but, the bar was set relatively low with Taurus's previous models. I did get the lakline llc pinky extensions to help with grip and that made this gun a winner to me, I love it. As a bonus for 200 bucks you can make the GX4 a GX4 xl by getting the xl toro conversion kit from Taurus so essentially 2 guns for under 500 bucks, hard to beat that.

This gun was fun to shoot and I thought it would be great for me to have as my EDC. But, after owning this gun for only 2 months and just putting 150 rounds in it. As odd as it may seem I am stuck between this and the Ruger LCP Max. I say odd because the LCP Max is .380 vs the GX4 9mm but I'm looking to replace my Kel-Tec P32 which I love the ultra compact size so the LCP max would be just slighly larger and add 10 rounds and .380 vs .32. The GX4 is better in caliber and adds one more round however while it is a micro 9mm it seems a bit to large as a pocket pistol. I've also seen some comment on the recoil being a bit much as a light micro 9mm.

Both are great carry guns. I use the Lcp Max for pocket carry, ultralight carry, or backup. GX4 for main carry and 100-150 rounds of comfortable range practice. If i could only have one it would be the LCP Max as there’s never a situation where u can’t carry it.

My experience with the Taurus bladed trigger hasn't wowed me either. The G2C had a long trigger pull. The G3C was better, but after an afternoon of shooting it would hurt my finger, much like the Glocks. Even more so,and sooner, with the GX4. I'm not a fan of S&W's hinged trigger, but at least they were comfortable for a day's shooting. I wish these makers would just move away from the trigger safety design. Many of the negligent discharges that happen still happen even with the trigger safety there. Makes little sense to me why they should keep them. Ever wonder why there's an aftermarket for triggers?

Only issue I have with my GX4, which I now prefer over carrying my p365, is with loading hollow points in the 13 round magazine. The ramp is perhaps the issue, but it will not rack a full 13 round mag. I must load the mag with 11 rounds, insert and rack the first round into the chamber, then remove the mag and then can add three more rounds. This issue appears only with the 13 round mag and when loading hollow points. No issues with ball ammo. The tightly packed big mag seems to push the flat of the hollow point tip up against the ramp, preventing the first round from chambering. No issues at all with following rounds once you chamber the first one. So guys and gals....practice with different ammo before you think to carry!

Your comment related with the position of the finger on the trigger is very accurate to me. The pinch feeling comes with it but the improvement is noticeable… if you do that you shoot better with the GX4. Agree that the GX4 trigger is not a competition trigger, and is not like a 1911 …. However between my P365, S&w Shield and Hellcat I prefer the GX4 trigger… it seems to be “crisper” !!

The TX22 was my first handgun, i loved the ergonomics it has. I recently sold it (dont need a 22lr) i do regret it, i now have a Beretta 92x RDO Compact & a p320 X10. I may eventually get another TX22 in the future though! That back strap is nice!! 👍👍
