I love this little guy. It's a great pinker because it is so accurate. Mine has the great wood grips that fit a hand perfectly. And, if you have a misfire, usually just another trigger pull fires the cartridge.

I have a PT-22 poly I've had about three years and probably put 500 or so rounds through it the thing that I've learned is I had to find the right ammo that it would cycle it did not like the Winchester white box but it's cycled flawlessly the Remington Thundebolts and the Remington golden bullets. It's a great little gun.

I have watched a ton of pistol videos. I just got my CCW and have been trying to decide on the pistol to get. I was looking ar Seecamp and the Ruger lcp2 and the Bodyguard. Your video and the reasons you gave for choosing the Taurus pt22 made me agree with your choice as the pistol I will probably get. My biggest concern with the Taurus has been the reliability of the gun and 22 ammo in general., but I doubt there is a gun sold that does not have a YT video of somebody complaining about an issue with the gun they have. I want something very small, reliable, with a safety and easy to shoot and break down and clean that is fairly accurate. Also, it should be cheap to use so I can become more accurate with it. I do not need to defend a bridge against enemy troops or disable a truck. I subscribed. Look forward to more of your videos.

Not sure if you found your gun but a hp22 is very reliable.. fairly accurate..smallish but not real light.. a couple of safeties but no biggie.. and very cheap.. 130 bucks.. the only drawback is reassembly but after reading manual and looking online not bad at all..

Consider a Kel-Tek P32. As light yet smaller than the Taurus 22PLY with a harder hitting round, easy shooter. No safety might be a deal breaker for you, but for me I like the "back-down impact" of clambering a round (if the villian already has a gun in hand, he's already in control).

Nice video. ...Very well made! Please keep us posted on your progress with this pistol. I have the exact same one, however after 10 months of plinking with it, I have started to experience burst-fire from this gun. Whereas the gun will shoot from 2 to 5 rounds with just one pull of the trigger. Like full-auto! I emailed Taurus about the problem, but no response yet. My guess is it's a firing pin spring, or hammer spring problem! There is a couple KZbin videos posted showing a PT22 demonstrating burst-fire.

Thank you and thanks for providing that valuable information. We will see what happens and will post another video if anything unusual happens. BTW put another 100 rounds through it yesterday with no issues. Having said that, it may be a while before I shoot it again; like I mentioned in the video, I don’t think these guns are really designed for heavy duty use and that’s a bit of a shame because I really like the configuration on this thing.

The Taurus long trigger pull almost makes the safety not neccecary. I pocket carry the Taurus 740 Slim. Always one chambered, safety off. Six years later and close to 1500 hundred rounds. A handful of misfires and a couple FTFs. Great fun. Pretty stout recoil tho. Added the ArmaLaser, grip activated Green Dot. Intimidating laser.

I have the 25 caliber version for 4 years now. This gun has pros and serious cons. It is small, very comfortable and steady grip, accurate and light even fully loaded and has good capacity of 10 plus one. Trigger has a very long and very stiff travel, makes my finger sore after 3 mags. Slide is impossible to pull back and only way to change mag and be operational fast is to look for a lose round in your pocket to insert in the barrell while the bad guy blows your head. If you carry it daily, you need to deal with your problem in 10 rounds. The gun is very sensitive to ammunition. Fiocchi runs well with no jams but acquila jams all the time.. i still carry it daily but have reservations.

I've arrived at this same point. I need something REALLY small to carry. A lot of 32ACP and 380 stuff is junk or is too big. This is cheap and will get the job done. I'll buy this and save my money for a H&K VP9SK to use as a serious side arm (one that I'll unfortunately rarely carry). I could pocket carry this PT-22 all the time. Also, anyone notice that this is a seriously great looking little design. The trigger guard lining up with the barrel length makes it look pit bull tough. Super modern. I'd buy it on looks alone. Noisy cricket.

Enjoyed the video/review. My EDC is a S&W 637. But I am starting to get some arthritis in my hand and looking for a lighter caliber. Would love a S&W 43c or Ruger LCR 22, but a bit pricey. This Taurus may fit my needs.

I bought mine with the rosewood grip for $100, I took it to the range with some REALLY old ammo and I had my suspicions about the ammos reliability. I did have quite a few jams over a couple hundred rounds but I've since bought fresh thunderbolts and I am looking forward to getting it back on the range to see how it performs when it opens back up.

Sweet gun dude, I would trade my Phoenix arms for that pistol
@mr.paladin87215 жыл бұрын
Please don't. The Phoenix has an extractor so if you get a misfire, you can jack the slide and chamber another round. Also, as has been noted, this gun has the same problem of the Baretta Minx (now called the Bobcat). They will occasionally go full auto (burst fire). I had two of the Berettas do that I see a post above yours claiming the same for this gun. The phoenix I have is super reliable and had never been ammo-fussy as the gun is said to be by some owners.

I have the same exact gun. What are your thoughts on using CCI Stinger ammo?
@leeman35755 жыл бұрын
IMO I personally would not use it, it maybe a little too hot for this pistol and you’re not gaining much out of this short barrel, especially in the velocity vs expansion area. But in the end, it is whatever works for you. As for me, it’s running like a champ with standard CCI mini mags RN, so I am going to stick with that.
