Enjoyed the interview. Like Iqbal Qasim, Tausif too gives due credit to Bishen Bedi for sharing his wealth of experience. Again, as Bedi himself said in an interview, it was not just the tips he gave to the two Pakistan spinners, but more than that, the fact that they used that knowledge to enhance their skill bowling on that minefield of a pitch. While Maninder Singh did take 7 wickets in the first innings to help India dismiss Pakistan for just 116 he couldn't reproduce the same magic in the second innings. I remember even Imran Khan had dug in his heels and it took a brilliant catch by SRIKKANTH at silly point to remove Imran. Javed Mianad & Salim Yousuf too made useful contributions that helped Pakistan to set up a challenging score. While Tausif said that surviving even for two balls was difficult on that pitch, I wish he could have spoken about Gavaskar's final innings in Test Cricket which was all about technique, temperament & his tremendouds power of concentration. And, finally, him surviving an easy run out chance, when Azharuddin missed the stumps while Tausif was not even half way down the track was pure Destiny. It not just added to the drama but played a decisive role in that match becoming truly Historic. Tausif highlighted an important point in this game, giving an example of Javed Miandad, that a lot of Cricket is played between the ears. That is also what separates a good player from a great one.

Pakistan won the match but hero of the match was Sunil Gavaskar that to on the 4th Innings of the match.That 96 of Gavaskar is the best Innings ever against spin.Iqual Kasim has given highest tribute to Gavaskar when he said "Gavaskar will be remembered for centuries." Tausif has not said anything about Gavaskar's Innings but I'm sure he will write in his memoir

Rizwan toured India earlier with the under19 side with Rashid khan, Saleem malik, Dara Bashir etc. He was purely a T20 sort of player and would have been successful in today's time. I very much remember and was young then. HAQ India

Also, another stat just for the knowledge of Tauseef and Rasheed, india had been dominant on pak since 2000 and pak was dominant on india from 1987-1999 and during that time 90% of the matches were plaed in sharjah.24 matches played in sharjah wher pak won 18 and india won 6. in matches played between pak and india at nuetral venues india won 28 while pak won 22 and in matches played on soil between these 2 teams, ind won 11 while pak won 14 and in 30 matches played in indian soil, india won in 11 and pak in 19. so, total ODI matches played 134, india won 57 and pak won 73 (ncluding the 1978-89 series one-day with help of unfair practices). so diff of 16 and that too because of single venue at sharjah. So i dont need to explain further about sharjah and what domination Tauseef is talking about. also, in sharjah azhar as captain lost 11 matches out of 15 with 6 matches lost on trot and also the simple run out chance of tauseef was also missed by azhar.In Test both Pak and Ind have won 4 series each and also 1 series they have won in opponent's backyard with Pak winning in 1987 Bangalore Test and I ndia winning under Ganguly in 2004. 9 tests won by India (5 at home and 4 in pak). 11 tests won by Pak (7 at home and 4 in India). In T20's, India has won 9 while pak only 3. so, Why pak cricketers brag, i fail to understand.dont talk on facts and unnecesarilty try to create hype and aura which no one believes.

Also reminded me of public reaction when in 1989 pakistan got redued to 28/3 in Karachi by Prabhakar and the public started throwing stones at the indian team and match was abondoned.
